I hope they (the link or cut and paste) work.
Anyway, a kind person emailed this to me and it put me on the fence again. I think the reason is that I believe our bodies are more resilient than we give them credit for, but then again, the shots are (or may be) full of crap you don't want in your body . . . too many unknowns . . . so, do you risk the shot and the unknown or risk the unknown of maybe getting sick? Our risk for getting sick these days is higher due to people who seem to have a hard time staying home when they feel like fooky. And, if you get the shot, you may get the flu anyway, who cares if it's H1N1 or just one of the seasonals? They all stink!
I think it's a tough call. I think I'd rather my kids get sick, if they will, than risk having them loaded up with additives in the shot (mercury and formaldehyde, for starters). They don't know what this stuff will do, only what it may do (infertility? brain damage? future cancer? harm the baby in the mum's tum?).
No shots. Just vigilance and prayer for our house.
I'm done. No shot is worth risking future impairment so the jockeys in "control" can have their day.

I read and watch so many concerning things about the vaccine. There was even a guy from the company who made it on Fox who said he wouldn't give it to his children???
A friend of mine made a lot of sense. She said we are all so afraid of suffering, getting sick. People get flus and then their body fights and they get well again. It's not pleasant but are we trying to make life suffer free?
God's will be done. I hope that my children can fight it. I hope I am making the right decision. I am tortured over it too.
But the squalene linked to sterility is concerning....
Much to pray about.
I won't be getting it. Even though there's many schools in our area shutting down because so many are sick.
I don't go out much, but if my parents were to get sick, I easily could.
I do agree with JMJ, that perhaps we're over vaccinating to get away from suffering. I think in today's day and age, many people want life easy, and it isn't always going to be that way. Not only that, but the more we vaccinate, I think the less our bodies learn to fight off sickness and even can create worse bacteria and viruses who have evolved to fight the previous vaccines. It just keeps going.
That, and the fact that I don't personally trust the pharmaceutical companies. Sorry, just don't. When things have just come out, I don't think there's been enough trials and tests to see how it will affect people. They want the money, I mean, look at the millions of people that will get the vaccine. How much money do you think they'll make off of it?
Just my thoughts :)
Of course, I haven't had to put thought into the other vaccines children get as I haven't had any children, but I can guarantee I'll look into them before I vaccinate. I think too many people take things for granted when they should study up on it.
Doesn't sound like you are 'one the fence' anymore. An online friend also posted a link to an article written by Dr. Sears (a favorite of mine). I don't have the link, but you could search & find his website. I'm sure it's similar to the link you were sent.
Last year, I read that taking vitamin D can decrease your susceptibility to the flu. I've been taking extra Vit. C, D and Zinc. I've been giving the kids extra C & multi's. So far, we've only had minor sniffles and coughs from the kids. I had a sore throat and stiffness coming on, but after two days of increased vitamins, I was symptom free.
Prayers for health...
Argghhh! I meant 'on' the fence.
This has been such a difficult decision for so many people, Sarah. We are leaning toward NOT giving our kids the shot. It's scary, though, because you can always say "what if." But let us trust in the Lord and care for our children the best we can, He is in control anyway!
After looking at this, and reading your comments here...I'm more convinced too and I also heard that extra D is imp. mostly cause we don't get the sunshine you are able to still get there. Of course, we must be watchful of not too much D! I also think along with extra Vitamins, there are other things and alot of them can be found in Airborne which was put together by a school teacher who was afraid of getting sick with the kids she needed to be around each day. It has really alleviated many big symptoms for us in that we have noted if we have a common cold or sinusitis or sore throat coming on that it seems to knock out about half of the symptoms and it all clears up..and there is good drainage, which many hate, but good drainage is important really. I think Alexa sent something around that the Dr. Oz guy suggests we do too and if you didn't get it, I think I still have it on my email. Let me know.
With Teresa, she has an immune system that is tackled by being around lots of 3 year olds. She also had allergies and I was talking to my sister, a nurse, and she said all that sneezing kind of opens us up to making a clearer path for germs to enter. So, I don't know. She could have been much more ill. She had a fever less than 24 hrs...aching and a bad headache which also was mostly gone after the first day. She really rested and I took good care of her..chicken soup and lovin care. She took nothing after the fact but vitamins and some over the counter for her headache. We'll all just have to season all this mix with prayers too, eh? It is a crazy mess, isn't it?
Love you, Sarah.
It's amazing that you posted this today. I ran into some information after I commented on your other post and thought "what am I doing!?" I have to contact the school now, the health department and I figure I'll send a note in the childrens backpack saying they are not to get it. (I already signed the form and returned it)
Cool, great, I agree with you! I feel bad trying to persuade people who really think it's the best thing to do...
NO NO NO!!!! Never. I know it is a personal decision, but that is mine. I have only had one flu shot in my life and that was when my daughter was sick with cancer and someone convinced me I should not be around her if there were any chance I could be carrying flu germs with me.
I signed the form for my Teenie, but the shots aren't due to be given until November. Since I'll be at the school in the AM, I'll ask them to return the signed form to me and I'll keep asking until they give it to me and let them clearly know I'll keep her home if they do not return the form to me.
I had not heard about the side effects. Hm... Well, for me, there is no question: I am allergic to flu shots because they are incubated in eggs. Can't take it even if I want to. Maybe that is, after all, good.
Wash hands, take vitamins, eat right, get your rest, exercise moderately ... boy, that all sounds vaguely familiar. Vitamin D is so important, and gargling with mouthwash or salt water as well.
Thankfully my OB isn't too indignant that I refused the H1N1 vaccine...
I just can't imagine that giving that dose of mercury to an unborn baby is a good idea...especially since they are so panicked about pregnant women eating tuna fish, which offeres it's own protection from naturally occurring mercury in the fish...sheesh.
Blessings to all!
I looked up Mercola and read a little bit about him on Wikipedia (sp). I read it real quick but it looks like he practices holistic meds. That is great. I believe we should stop giving antibiotics for every stupid runny nose a kid has. Also washing hands and eating right is a good thing.
I disagree about the suffering. I believe we should prevent getting sick and take care of ourselves when we can.
My son has Epilepsy. How does washing your hands stop him from having seziures.
I am not saying get the shot...personal choice..but Mercola is not the beginning and end to this discussion. Talk to more drs. out there.
I have always wondered why so many people distrust drs. However, they will go out and buy the latest Suzanne Somers book on how to beat cancer and believe her???
I am still on the fence.
I agree that we should be proactive - be careful with exercise, eating, drinking, etc.. People need to practice common sense. All.the.time. I have read so many conflicting things, but the one that stands out is this: there are things in the shots (mercury, stuff they stick into dead folks, etc.) that no one knows just how or how badly they will effect health now, in the future, or for eternity. Since no one can tell me that this shot is 100% safe, we'll just rely on common sense.
I'm not afraid. I'm not afraid of sickness and suffering - but I will do the best I can to stay well for me and for the kids. I just want to allow our bodies to combat whatever comes our way - to take that risk. I can only think of a handful of times I've actually had the flu where I recognized it as such and only ONCE where I was willing to just die I ached and hurt so bad . . . And, my kids have only ever had very mild colds etc.. Same for the Chief. I have a lot of intestinal issues . . . IBS; diagnosed by a doctor. It's not fun, but it's not as bad as it was because I believe I was healed of anxiety at the conference in San Antonio last year . . . I used to be afraid to go out to eat or go anywhere since I would get nervous about silly things and my guts would wrench . . . and you all know, run to the loo several times and end up having to go home where upon entering the house it would suddenly halt.
Anyway, I am not telling anyone else what to do. It's hard enough to stick to my decision for me and the kids . . . I can't take that sort of pressure for the world. Everyone is free to make their own choice.
Anyway, it's made for interesting blogging, yeah?
LOVE YOU ALL!!!
I'm with you, Sarah. Ever since my third child had a bad reaction to a DPT shot (fever of 105 degrees and literally slept for 24 hours) and then later developed seizures, I've been very, very hesitant about vaccines. My pediatrician was sympathetic to my concerns and when I didn't want to give my other children their DPT shots at age 5 he said he understood. Two of them did later get pertussis. Once or twice a day they would cough REALLY REALLY hard for a few minutes and that was it. Their doctor said that now everyone in our family has had the equivalent of a booster.
It's that mercury stuff that scares me. It's a neurotoxin. My son no longer has seizures and I hope to never see one of my children having one again.
Hey, don't those beautiful ocean breezes blow away all the germs in Hawaii? Here we're really vulnerable. I think our bodies put out so much energy trying to stay warm our immune systems get weakened. Stay well!!
Can you envision a world where we're all little Howie Mandel mini-me's or like MONK, for God'sakes? It's hilarious!!! Let's not take things to that level either.
On another note: why do manufacturers think that some women and men would like little scrubber exfoliate pellets in their body soap? I accidentally bought some body wash 'cos it smells awesome that has these scratchy bits in them - I don't want that in my arse!!!
LOL! Just a break from the serious..we all needed that last funny!
That one young woman who had the reaction from it..the cheerleader gal..her damage is neurological or what have you..so that is what the mercury part can do, I guess, eh?
I don't know...just take care best we can..pray..pray..and offer up the little things too.
I'm with you, Sarah... our bodies are resilient and need practice fighting things off to get stronger... I worry about what's in the vaccines as well, and don't want to be a guinea pig for a new vaccine... I figure I'd rather be really sick than be "sick" from the vaccine for a few day. Either way, you're going to feel bad.
glad you're not getting it. i watched that whole thing too and it made sense. especially since my littlest son, who is the least vaccinated of all my kids, due to my changing views thru the years, is really the healthiest of them all.
i am sorry that i don't trust our government to have our best interest at heart. maybe if circumstances were different i would.
so no shots for us. just lots of sunshine. cod liver oil. and of course rest and good food.
the risks just don't seem worth it.
No shots for me either. It's bad enough men are called pigs - we don't need a shot to make it worse.
Oh, wait.....never mind.
