Thankful Thursday

Even though I hated to write out that big check for rent, I am thankful I have the money to do so.

Even though this condo is small, I am thankful that its is big enough.

Even though I haven't any friends here, I am thankful for the friends I do have everywhere else, and, it's only a matter of time before I make friends here.

Even though it is usually quite warm here, I am thankful for the daily pleasant weather and the cooler evenings.

Even though I am hearing impaired, I am thankful I can hear the waves crashing onto the beach (when it's super quiet in the condo and the window is open).

Even though I wish I could shop until I drop, I am thankful I can spend a few bucks buying books that give me hours of unbridled joy.

Even though I must wait to move into our new home, I am thankful I have time to plan out how I want the furniture arranged and dream about the colours I will paint the walls when we get there. I've never painted where we lived in the past, but I plan to this time . . . I can't stand white walls any longer. I want bright and airy to be a lifestyle!

Even though I have really very little to share in this post, I am thankful to be thankful and share it with you.

I ask Our Lord to keep you in His care.

It is amazing all the little things we can be grateful for if we just stop long enough to think about them. I always pray that more people would just stop long enough and be more thankful and grateful for all the little things. They would be so much more content.
Take care, Susan
P.S. About your question the other day, yes I have an Etsy shop but I am dragging my feet big time listing anything. I just need to coordinate that into my days. I work full time and with 14 plus hour days it is a little tricky. I am hoping to retire next year.

What a wonderful list. I love the way you wrote it...kind of a back and forth with thoughts. Oooh...I may want to copy you : )

I am very thankful when I can treat myself to a book. I would much rather spend my money on books than clothes and you can tell : )

What a nice reminder of all we really do have to be thankful for. So often we take all of our material wealth so much for granted. That as well as the love of our Lord, we just think it is there and we do not have to reciprocate....how sad.

I am just getting around to blogging. Just wanted to say something about you hanging your head out the window a zillion miles off the ground! Crazy! Where are the screens on that thing?

Cool to see where you have been spending your days!

What a sweet post..what choo talkin bout? I'll add to it..even though I cannot be at the seaside like my friend and bloggy pal, I am thankful that she is so sharing about her experiences and shows us lovely photos and as I sit here with this beautiful sunny day and the breeze blowin the curtains through my deck doors, I will be grateful for that and close my eyes and let myself imagine on........ :)

I would say you shared a lot in this post. We can never be too grateful. Thanks for the example.

Your comment on writing the rent check brought to mind something that just might make you laugh, as well as provide some inspiration. When a friend of mine who had spent many years as an atheist, having grown up in communist Czechoslovakia, first became a believer, she took everything very literally, including the exhortation to give to the poor and the promise that God will provide. So, she gave away all her salary, except for what she needed for food. When it came time to pay her rent, she had no money. So, she prayed, "Okay, Lord, I am ready for you to provide me my rent money now. It is due today." (She has since come to realize that she is also supposed to be a good husband of the money and property that God has given her and not just expect everything to be forked over to her.) However, on that day, would you believe that when she went home after work, she felt like there was something wrong with the front door mat. She picked it up, and there was precisely the amount of money she needed for her rent! That lady went on to found a very active Christian fellowship at the institution where she works.
