To all those who have died serving the U.S.: this Navy family salutes you!! Thank you for your sacrifice to secure our freedoms.
I have borrowed two vacuums to no avail. I hope that tomorrow I score with my friend "N's" vacuum. I need a vacuum that can actually suck, thank you very much.
Yes, I'll be going back over the old place to make the upstairs habitable for the next residents. You know what really "kills" me about this whole affair? That the rental folks are going to pay some other schmuck to clean it all over again. Bastids. Why can't they just pay me, yeah?
Tuesday I'll clean the downstairs and back my arse outta that joint for good. My husband has two sofas and a desk to haul out of there, I just want the desk downstairs some time tomorrow so I can actually finish the upstairs before going to bed that night.
Hols is getting a make-over tomorrow. She is getting a short cut (again) and cleaned up for the trip. This buys us some time to find a groomer in Oahu that we like and are affordable.
I finished the latest in the Ladies #1 Detective series last night and started the newest one on the kids series (Percy Jackson & the Olympians) The Last Olympian. Entertaining series and full of fun mythology stuff. Next up: The Life of Pi.
What are you all up to? All the pools across America are opening this weekend. I know exactly what many of you are doing! Have fun and stay safe!

wow, you sound so busy... I totally need a better vacuum:)
Love the new blog look! Sorry I haven't visited in so long. It's been a crazy month. I was wondering if you'd moved yet. Tuesday's the day eh? Very exciting! Travel safely. :-)
You could use my Oreck...it picks up bowling balls! Wish I could help. Moving is SUCH a pain! God Bless! Cathay
My second son has gone bonkers over Percy. He read the Last Olympian like 3 times.\
I am running around shooting at my son with his new air soft gun. I got hit 3 times and said "I QUIT!" That would be my older son.
my daughter is now a puppy and my youngest is vaccuuming for me! gotta go!
i am recovering from a mountain trip. i am dog tired. but we spent some great time with the kids. the air is so fresh and lovely up there! glad you are almost "done" with your old place. do show us pictures of the little miss' makeover. she is such a darlin', just like her mama! :)
ps. bastids??? you are too funny!
Tracey - I'm with GrandmaK: an Oreck is awesome and worth every penny. I bought the "something 21 version" with a 21 year warranty. I have had no trouble with it . . . although, I may have issues finding a dealer in Oahu (hope not; hope for the best) for the annual cleaning I get free for 21 years. They have rid of the 21 warranty on their newer deals these days, but I feel fortunate that they will back my machine that long!! The canister vac that came with it is my fav! I miss them; it was hard to use borrowed ones that just did not do the job properly. Fortunately, I got to borrow a shopvac that did the baseboards nicely and a regular vac that finished the job nicely.
Kissteen - I love that book series. It ends quite well, too. I like that it's kid-friendly.
regan - I should try and remember to take a pic of the Hols'ter before she's shaggy again. She's over at my friends house once again. My friend has two wee dogs as well . . . they get to play! I miss her not begin around, but we're not here a whole lot anyway.
I busted my arse today cleaning. But, saving that story for my next post.
Hugs to you all!
Hiya!
I really like the new look too!
Just back from a family vacation kayaking in Virginia. Beautiful!
Man, have you been busy! Make sure to get lotsa rest, if you can as all this moving is sure to be stressful. :)
