Almost There . . . I Think It's Called "The Home Stretch"

I'm stretching, all right! Geesh! My back is beyond aching. It hurts!

This morning we had to get back into routine: getting the teen outta bed and to school on time. He made it! But, we lost power (while my hubs was in the shower - that would have freaked me out, but he was all chill about it). There was a certain person who clogged one of the toilets . . . being in someone elses house means not knowing if and where they keep things for such events. The plumbing in our old place (which I'm almost almost almost done cleaning . . . seriously, I am!) is so fickle, I had one plunger out in the open at all times. It's not our digestion causing the issues. The whole of new housing on post has this issue. It's really awful and really weird! So. No plunger. I looked everywhere. So, after dropping Squirrel Boy off at school, I stopped by the old place (ironically, the power was on there) to get the trusty plunger I was smart in keeping "just in case". In the dark, I managed a good plunge and no mess in the process. I'm so thankful!

Later in the day, I went to the store and bought a new plunger and a bucket to keep it in. Now B and B have one (they probably don't need as they probably have it somewhere in this place or, I reckon, their friendly leprechaun absconded with it during our need, dern it to hades!).

I managed to get everything but the oven door (need to buy Easy-Off), stove top, and the kitchen floor done. Oh, and wipe out the kitchen cabinets. I'll be doing that after I drop Squirrel Boy to school tomorrow morning.

It felt so good to take a shower before dinner. My hubs made spaghetti and garlic bread. God bless him. I am so tuckered. I usually say knackered. I'm that as well.

However, I need to run off to buy a few more cleaning supplies and a box so I can mail back the curriculum to Seton. Check this, check that. It's all getting checked off.

Hope ya'll are having some fun.

The upside to the dark this AM? There was so much rain that I did not have to water last night or today . . . B & B have flowers around their entire house. Two hoses to do the job. I do have to roll up the hose in the front. I may get to that tomorrow morning. For now, I am pray that there are no more storms to knock out the power and no more rain. I need to spruce up around their home, too, so they don't come home to a sty. Y'all know we're a bunch of pigs, yeah?

You're making so much progress, and from what I can tell keeping a good perspective and sense of humor, too. I'm sure there are moments, but all in all, it seems like you're hangin' in there fairly well. I'm excited for all of you ... you are so close to beginning this new adventure in Hawaii! God bless you, Sarah! =)

Thanks, ladies. You know, I almost changed my blog title to Plunger Queen, but that is such a shitty title.

Have a great evening! :)

hey lady! I hear you on the cleaning. We just got our list of what has to be done if we don't hire the cleaning "team". Well, if we do hire one, we still have to clean so I figured we might as well do it ourselves and save the money. I'll be starting next week. They are pretty strict here. White glove and all.
Miss ya!
