Focus A Little, Sarah, And Relax

I have been taking time on and off throughout the day to "get things done" around here. Our first pack out will be Monday. At that time they will pack out about one thousand pounds of household goods that we will see some time at the end of June. My friend, JoMary, came by a bit ago to help me go over my list. The second shipment will pack up Wednesday and Friday. The process is a little overwhelming. Let me tell you why.

You all know the military moves quite often. We are no different, except we have always done our own moves and all of them have been domestic, as in continental U.S. Because Hawaii is technically "overseas" it is different. We could be moving to Africa and it would be the same deal, except it isn't. Anyway, I'll take Hawaii. It has been a huge hassle to get the dog ready to go there. We have one final appointment with the vet to finalize her transfer. I tried to get her a grooming appointment and apparently they need proof of rabies vaccination (got it) and distemper (ugh, . . . crap!). So, now I have to ring up the vet on Monday and get that put on to her last visit, too. Unless PetSmart says they need proof of that shot, too, in which case I'll schedule it ASAP. That dog needs a grooming before we go so I don't have to monkey with it when we get there. Ach du libre!

My thinker is cringing at sorting through what I know I cannot live without in my kitchen until the end of July . . . what do I need to have as soon as the end of June? My mind is saying, "Look, you bunch of dumdums, if we can live w/out "X" and "Y" until the end of June, what is another month???" But, I digress. I will get it done.

Laundry is the killer. Isn't it always, O those who do such chores? We have to separate what we will lug about on the plane and in/to hotels (and don't mind wearing again and again and . . . well, you get the picture) until the end of June (when, we hope that 1,000 pound shipment shows up) and all our other clothes catch up with us. However, at the end of the day, it is not like we are up the creek without a paddle. I am trying to look on the bright side of this upheaval: the weather will be outstanding and I really love pineapple!

After I post this I will be cutting 100 nylon twine strings (at 60") for 100 mission rosaries. I'm going to need to pop out and get some ziplock bags to "deal" with this project, but I'm doing it. I'm taking them with me on the plane and going to make them all between leaving, landing, and finding someplace to live when we get there. If that gets done or doesn't satisfy me, I am packing two cross-stitch kits in my luggage. One is just needing final touches of back stitching, the other is this (to begin):

So, off I go to measure and cut twine until I just can't go on any longer. Who am I kidding? I can go go go, folks! I've had enough coffee to raise a dead horse to life! Ha.

Sarah...I love the new look of the blog! The colors are great!

I've never been fond of moving. I moved cross country...and that was enough for me!

Please know that I'm praying for a smooth transition for you guys. Make sure you send me your new address when you have one....

Keep your eye on the day when you are all moved, all unpacked and settled. It won't be long!

Oh Sarah, I can feel your pain, dear. The moving just stinks. STINKS. I do pray that it goes smoothly and everything arrives in one piece. Try to just breathe in and out slowly and remember that you've done this before, and you can do it again. Even though it stinks.

I got the book! Thank you so much for sending it. I haven't had a spare moment yet to indulge, but I will soon. It's been a crazy busy week here, but next week will settle down. Thank you with all my heart for sharing this little treasure with me.

God bless you! I hope you'll be online during your move.

This is not just your ordinary, stressful-enough move, is it? You have so much to keep track of. WOW! My head would hurt, too. God bless you, Sarah! I hope and pray all goes well. Hang in there!
