Mundane Monday

It is the mundane in life that keeps it all in perspective. No matter how I feel there are jobs to be done. I cannot sit long and mull over all the depressing news (President Dumdum is at it again . . . I've said it in the beginning, and I'm no political know-it-all, but I am good at pinpointing things about folks: some say it nicely that he's an empty suit . . . I say he's a puppet - he flounders and flutters so I call him a puppet with plenty of hands up his behind, if you get my drift; he isn't directing this country alone . . . ). I cannot cry over people who I thought were friends (one reason de Sales book means so much to me - it helped me put it into perspective). I will say: writing that post just about did me in - which is why I suddenly feel like I haven't anything important to write about.

So, I'm going to do the mundane chores around the house with pleasure. I will keep busy shredding papers that are useless (old bill receipts), taking down the stuff on a bookcase I'm trying to find a home for, load after load of laundry, and making sure my two tots do their school work in a timely manner.

Yesterday, after Mass, I went to lunch with a friend and then I attended a Divine Mercy planning meeting. It was a long day, but pleasant. I love days when it seems like nothing much was done, but in hindsight much was accomplished.

I pray you all have a productive and blessed Monday.

Just got to your post about friends. I must admit I am the kind of gal who would love a posse (sp)....just a group of gals that would get together over a beer. Like you said the busi-ness of life has taken me over. Kids and house and husband leave a little for me time. My highschool buds live so far away. I know gals but it is just because of my children.

Friends are precious. I especially like friends that are deep in their faith. Jamie is like that. I love her faith and friendship. (and she is close enough to get together but we are both busy with kids and school!)

Have a good Monday!

Same here...been to the college to drop Crista off and while there hit the grocery, some gas for the car, and back to Wally World for a few more groceries, unpacked them, and now here. The weather is so pretty..a little chilly, but pretty.
I'm hungry..already had a no-no, but that is not what I gave up for Lent or am trying to do for Lent, so I won't beat myself up about it! Besides they were on sale..not mentioning anything since some of you may have given sweets up.
Well, I have much more "mundane" stuff to do. It IS part of my Lent to do THOSE MUNDANE things without complaint and all that, so off I go for a bit. Have a blessed Monday too!
