Honest Scrap Meme/Award

"The Honest Scrap award comes with a caveat or two. First, you have to tell your readers 10 things about you they may not know, but that are true. Second, you have to tag 10 people with the award." Thanks for the tag Live, Laugh, Love! I tag anyone who reads this one. Just let me know in the comments if you're playing along so I can stop by and read yours.
1. I pretty much hate/loathe seafood, but I love fish.
2. When I was in MN with family two years ago, we went lake fishing - I revisited my childhood in a way (I used to fish with my dad) - and rediscovered how much I actually like fishing!
3. I loathe cherry anything. When I was a kid all medicines were cherry flavoured - blech! I do not like cherry pie (it's disgusting) . . . I don't like the way they smell. Although, now and again, I may eat one or two Bing cherries (I probably ate too many off my grandparents tree in my early days . . . probably caused massive GI issues that linger to this day).
4. I don't like watching telly in the dark. Everyone else in this house seems to, but it drives me bonkers!
5. I secretly love it when people mistake me for being college educated. I hold a high school diploma and a life of experience. That's it. I secretly long to go to college - but only when the kids are out of the house! No distractions or I'll flunk out.
6. Part of #5, I'm easily distracted because I am interested in so many different things; focusing on one career has always been a challenge. I get something in my sight and then halfway in, something else pops in. Total distraction. I would love to go into medicine, teach, or do something in theatre/arts.
7. Okay, I read a lot. You all know that. Maybe what you don't know is: I have STRONG opinions about the shit on the shelves these days. I can enjoy modern literature, but like modern ideas, they are empty and void of anything noble and lasting.
8. I love Olivia. Are you familiar with Ian Falconer's books? Yup, that Olivia. I even bought a set of magnets, stationery, and a stuffed Olivia.
9. I like really nice things. Not jewelry (it's nice, but I'd rather have the furniture and furnishings and accessories). I would love to have my house full of Ethan Allen stuff. I'll be happy with whatever we sit on these days, but this time we buy, I'm going for MATCHING and COORDINATING. Nearly all of my friends homes are furnished so lovely, I'm ready to join the ranks. I have always cared, but I married Mr. I Don't Care. In fact, this very PC desk I'm using is a roadside find. His words to get me to "be okay with it" were: I know the guy who I took it from. Uh-huh.
10. I really don't want to wear jeans any longer. Time to go to chinos. Is 40 taking over? Probably. But, really, I see myself from behind once in a blue moon and jeans are so naughty looking. If I buy them any looser, I'll be in a number I do not like and cannot live with and I'll starve myself into oblivion and death, most likely. So. I need to find trousers that flatter. I already know pleats in front are a no-no. I'd secretly like to redo my wardrobe with LL Bean and Lands End stuff.
I feel all plastic and exposed now. Don't you? Oh, that's right: you have to write yours now! Don't forget to let me know in the comments if you'll play along.

Stupid blogger not letting spaces between! I don't like that!

BTW, the desk was on the curb to get rid of it. Curb side pickup on military posts. You can't do that now (at least not here), but folks would put stuff out on the curb for bulk pick up and other folks would come by early and take stuff. I think my hubs was helping the guy pack out and asked for the desk. It's not coming with us to HI. It's jerry-rigged at this point and won't make the voyage. Do you hear me: three cheers hurrah!!

Was in the Army long enough to know that those who stayed also got the plants and the booze from those who were leaving. Caused one not to buy either. Sounds like things are "moving along smartly." Cathy

I had cleaning supplies coming out of my ears - and frozen foods! We've been here six years. I have a few folks who might take our cleaning supplies and food - but really, I usually have scant left anyway, I just throw it out.

I really dislike cherries, too. I won't eat cherry pie or anything cherry and if you put a cherry on top of my ice cream, I'll just throw it away.

And I'm with ya on watching tv in the dark. It's bad for the eyes! I don't really know if that's true but it's what my parents used to always say. So I never watch tv in the dark, just in case. :)

Great post!!
