Caroling Caroling Through the Show . . . I mean: Snow

I found another use for the St. Lucia crown: put the cookie jar in the middle and fill it with small candy canes. Lovely!

I made that star in a class a while ago. The garland I bought through Avon. I have a Mr. Claus set, too, but I can't find a place to put it this year.

This Elf on my Shelf is the one from when I was a kid. Hallmark and others are re-marketing this icon. When I noticed this last year, I instantly rang up me mum and breathlessly asked if she still had the one we knew as a kid - yes, she did - and can I have it please, mum? Yes, it came in time for last Christmas. I love it and leave him out all year long.

Not a very good pic - I tried at least a dozen times with this sprite. This is the 2008 Faerie Lily. My girl bought it for me to go with the other two I have. It's the 4th year and I missed a year, but she saw this and got it for me. Love my girl!

And, yet this wee fella managed to come out pretty good in take one. Bloody hell! Anyway, he's one of two: my mum sent these guys along with the Elf on the Shelf last year. They are from my parents year before my sister came along - I think. They are old. Okay, my sister is going to call me and tell me I'm only two and an half years younger than her and all that. This elf is just so dern goofy looking it's hard not to be a wee bit happy looking at his "I'm swinging on a swing in your tree, lady" smile on his face.

I love seeing all the decorations! We too have an Elf on a shelf, Kyle & his family gave it to us a few years ago. I never thought to leave it out all year, that's a good idea.

Thanks for sharing your Christmas treasures with us.

xoxo, Jen

Love the goofy elves! My in-laws have a couple of those.
I have one "Annelise" (sp?) little elf in pajamas and my whole family hates when he comes out to play. They say he is freaky looking. But I love the little guy.

My mom has an elf just like that!

Beautiful decorations but it sounds like you need a santa in a hawaiian shirt one for next year!

Your tree looks great! It's nice to see..I miss hanging out with ya. Thanks for sharing. I'll be posting some pics of my decorations as well tomorrow..still taking pics and baking. Almost have all the cookies done. The kids love those wedding cookies..I have to make more so I can put them in the gift boxes.

You guys! WOW! Yes, at my Hallmark that I work at..yes, we've been selling them. Funny, the faces look so familiar, but I don't remember the elf on the shelf per say..isn't it odd but cute?!!

Jen - I keep forgetting that while we were all growing up so was Kyle! How is he anyhoo? Tell him hullo, yeah? I'm glad you got to see our Christmas stuff.

Barb - Thankfully, I don't have anything my kids hate (yet) that I'm aware of - otherwise they're all a bunch of bloody pentup pacifists!!

JMJ - how long has your mum had hers? I agree, a Santa in a HI shirt would be fitting. I do have a stamp set with Mele Kalikimaka on it - very HI Christmas set. Next year! I may make mounds of them and have a "gift give away again".

Dawn - I miss having a nice chat with coffee next to my weedy bit of a tree, too. You said January - if you do come up, I may join you. I need to talk to JoMary pronto about the bus!

Suzanne - I want to say the Elf on a Shelf was a 70's thing. Could be earlier. I should research it. Hmmmm.
