I am opinionated and I usually share my opinions with friends, not necessarily putting my opinions out there to be agreed with, disagreed with, or even flat-out fought over. I'll be honest in that I do not like confrontation, but only because I would like to have my facts straight before I engage in any discussion that may get heated. Still, I believe in the better side of folks, in that they (including myself) will remain calm.
Does anyone realize that in socialism that when wealth is spread amongst us, it kills our very desire to do our best? The government will tell us how much we will earn in our profession. The government may even choose our profession. That, alone, makes it undesirable to me. I admit, I know very little about government systems, but I do know BIG government is not in the best interests of a FREE country.
I have either read or heard some say that McCain is for the death penalty so he is not pro-life. Let's back it up a moment. How many people on Death Row actually keep their engagement with "the chair" or "the injection"? Even then, it's done as absolutely as "humanely" as possible. But, WAY before that, even when proven beyond a doubt guilty of the crime, the person has all kinds of legal loopholes to keep him/her alive for a very very long time. It's their right to appeal. You do not see that granted an unborn child. The only advocate an unborn child has is its mother. If the mother can't see reasonable truth (that the child she is carrying is an actual human being and there are options other than killing it), that's where pro-life people stand in the gap, offering hope and love and healing and, oh yeah, LIFE.
McCain is pro-life enough. I will pray for him to go all the way pro-life, because I understand he's for limited abortions (i.e. for rape, incest, harm to mother's health - and that last one is very sketchy). Still, Obama is for opening wide the doors to DEATH. If we don't stop this guy, eventually we'll all "fall in" whether we want to or not. His legislation will dip into our pocketbooks to fund abortions . . . not only in America, but on foreign soil. It's criminal. It's sinful.
This is why I am praying - especially for Obama's change of heart.

Pretty Header picture!!
I like the blue too, very cool!
I agree, if Obama warmed his heart...
Here, here!! I couldn't agree with you more. I think the death penalty in this country is appalling, unjust, racist and immoral. But the number of people put to death by the State each year is totally, completely minimal compared to the number of babies killed by abortion. We can only do one thing at a time - do you try to stop the trickle or the flood first? Obama, on the other hand, will open wide the floodgates.
Amen, amen. Keep up those prayers!
McCain may be ify on abortion..but his running mate is not..and they're a good team.
as for Obama. I'm just praying he loses
This is a great post. Many valid points you have made here. I have added your blog to my sidebar of Blogs I enjoy- I hope that you don not mind. God Bless!
Amen!!
Little children believe that in a "free" country, you don't have to pay for anything. But most people outgrow that idea once they hit middle school.
If you never have to pay for anything, you never appreciate anything and you never learn to work.
kathleen M = of course, I am chuffed (pleased) you would add me to your sidebar. Speaking of which, as soon as I stop being lazy, I'll get my blog list up and running. I just keep forgetting to do it.
Thank you all for your comments. This is a tough election year. More than any other - though that saying is taking a beating, isn't it?
I just happened onto your blog, and I'm enjoying it very much. I could have written this post. Adding my prayers to yours regarding the election.
