I have begun reading this "classic" today, after having finished reading Letters to a Young Catholic (which quoted from Teresa, among many other famous Catholic names: GKC, Belloc, among them). The "letters" book prompted me to dig about on my shelf, because I knew I had something by St. Teresa. Ta-da! I'm so glad. It will be nice to read about her . . .
. . . I have a thing for Dominican's, you know.
updated 11-6-08: I know, I'm daft, but I have to fix this error. I know St. Teresa isn't Dominican. I was thinking of another Dominican (St. Catherine of Sienna for some bazaar reason and confused the two). Anyhoo - I know St. Teresa is a D.C. (discal. carmalite). Forgive me my transgression of dum-dumism.

Funny you chose that one..I just started reading it. My sister, of all folks, recommended it. Nice to be sharing a read with you.
correction..the one I'm reading is The Interior Castle. It has the same cover. Go figure
I'm glad your sis is offering up serious literature! :-) From my understanding, Inerior Castle is in many ways written about in the Autobiography. Leastwise, she will touch on prayer etc. We'll talk, I'm sure.
Tomorrow, I am taking the cat to the vet hospital between 7-8 and she'll be there 3 days. Right now she's clawing and meowing at us "feed me" . . . no food, no water. I hate that. Poor thing! Plus, early this evening, she jumped to the highest stair banister, toppled a flashlight and as her stroke of luck would have it, she went arse over herself. She's okay. She's also hungry.
thinking of reading that letters to a young catholic soon....methinks I qualify!! ;-)
MM- I think you definitely qualify! How is RCIA going for you? You're in my prayers!
