Left To Tell and Letters To A Young Catholic

I loved this book about Immaculee. It is a quick read in the sense that the suspense is gripping, the story horrifyingly haunting, beautifully telling on finding God in the midst of fire. It's a page-turner, a heart turner, a prayer turner. You'll be grateful she lived to tell and that you were not in her shoes. However, perhaps we are in her shoes in a sense: what are we doing in this country, but allowing abortion to continue. There is little difference when it comes to genocide.

Much more up-beat than the first book, but just as worthy (and I'm not finished with it yet)! I love the way George Weigel writes and he brings in Traditions and history. I tell you what, I love that in the first chapter he's quoting Flannery O'Connor's one-liner on the Eucharist, "Well, if it's a symbol, to hell with it." I'm taking this one in large doses at a time.

I had to delete a spam for online poker, too.

Thanks, Dawn. I'll check out her site.

The book by George Weigel is a precious read and so interesting. It doesn't take too long either and you learn alot about Tradition and the Catholic Churches around the world! Glad someone else found this one! :)

I can say that Letters to a Young Catholic is hands-down one of the best reads I've read on the CHurch today. Excellent - user friendly without holding back!!
