I read in this morning's paper that some person flew to O'ahu from Guam to grab some of the good Black Friday deals. Long flight, long hours to wait, no sleep, long lines . . . for one bag of goodies to fly back with to Guam. I don't know if any deals are good deals when it means you have to buy a plane ticket . . . I do think that was stupid. I just can't wrap my mind around the "logic" involved.
If I can't get it here or over the internet, I'm going to live without it.
Anyway, today I venture out to Target. I'm looking for taper candles . . . I hold out no hope for actual Advent candles . . . . I had a lapse in planning . . . any candle will work as long as it's a taper. If I do not find any, we'll just light any old candle and say the prayers anyhow.
I'm also looking for a nice table runner for the coffee table. I know Target had many of them last week . . . so we'll see if there are any left after yesterday's insane traffic through the store.
I had a small piece of pumpkin pie and a cuppa pumpkin spice coffee. I'm well prepared to meet the world.

Yikes! Candles! I am running out right now!
Sometimes I think it's absurd what lengths people will go to at Christmas. I'm glad you said something about the candles. I need to get mine too. Will probably go to Cornerstone on Wednesday. Thanks! Cathy

Barb - thank you so kindly for the offer! I bought four white tapers and will add the appropriate colour ribbon at their bases. If you still feel you should send them, I have no problem swapping the white ones out. Hey, after living in Guam for a year and a half, I understand. There is one store, K mart. That's it folks. It's the worlds largest K-Mart, but sometimes you just want something a little different ya know!?
