Mad dash bit: running about tidying for the folks coming to look over the condo (to buy or rent, I'm not privy) at 11am. The next dash coming up very soon: getting the kids.
The nonsense bit: the couple who saw the condo were about ten years older than us and he had an accent. Aussie, man, Aussie! Swoon-o-roonie! There's something about accents, yeah? Well, he was good looking, but I only notice these things; I no longer allow my mind to go where it shouldn't and rake my conscience over hot coals of damnation. Trust me. Part of that change in me is quite frankly: I'm older and well, losing my physical appeal little by little, IMHO (do not say otherwise in the comments; I'm not fishing!) and, it's largely the GRACE OF GOD. I asked for it. Please, God, let me be attracted to the person inside and not think of them as an object. It worked! You know why? I MEANT it and HE loves it when we want to do His Will.
The couple were friendly and already live in the building but have to move. They must be renting for holidays. It isn't my business. But, I have made it my job to make this place stay nice so that it's easier for them to rent it or sell it when after we're gone.
The gal was American. I think the accent captured her attention, too, some how. Yeah? I'll bet it's part of the equation. He he he.
Anyway: I LOVE MY CHIEF.

Quite a busy day! (yawn) I'm 'bout ready for bed! Good evening1 Cathy
Many times I have seen some of the outwardly best looking people turn unattractive once they opened their mouths and then the reverse has also been true.
It almost stunned me to realize how important the 'real' person is!!
What a bummer for you to always have to be on your toes about keeping the place so orderly.
blessings and hugs,

A friend of mine passed along a beautiful prayer to Mary. It was a prayer of a wife and mother and all of the struggles she went through in her daily vocation. One of the struggles was noticing an attractive man with greying temples who frequented the coffee shop. She was just saying that all she did was notice and would never say or do anything untoward her vocation, and isn't it ok to daydream a bit? Your post reminded me of that. :)
there is definitely something about an accent that makes a guy stand out.
i love 'swoon-o-roonie'. i gotta use that sometime!
you are so funny!
this little swoon just shows you're "human". and besides, there is definitely something about a man with a bit of an accent...
i always loved mel gibson's aussie accent. until he dumped his wife and kids for a new honey. shame on him.
