Can You Recommend A Good . . . .

. . . . I need help! An accident occurred last night with a kid and a shaken bottle of BBQ sauce. Water alone will not get the stains out of the white/cream carpet. I've soaked up all I can, but I'm afraid that the Woolite Pod is not going to get it out. I tried on one spot - not happening.

Would you:

1. Buy the Little Green Machine?
2. Buy a carpet steamer? Brand/where to get?
3. Pay a professional team to come in?
4. Use another over the counter cleaner? Which brand?

If the Good Housekeeping one doesn't work, go with Oxy clean. We have always had pretty good luck with that cleaner.

I would use a mix solution of Oxy clean and Tide and blot a lot with white terry cloth towels.

Good luck.

Ron uses peroxide on the carpet, especially for wine and dog pee. Maybe it work on your BBQ sauce. Check it our in a corner to make sure it won' bleach the carpet. Let me know how it works. Cathy

my vote goes to oxy clean! just mix it up, pour it on and blot...until it's all gone.

I've had great success with (believe it or not) baking soda and vinegar. Make a paste (or just sprinkle the baking soda on the stain then pour vinegar over it, let it bubble up) and blot it in, let it dry then vacuum up. You do have to test for color fastness because it can bleach (rather make lighter) a cream colored carpet.

don't know if that's in any other suggestions already mentioned, but worth a shot. Good luck!
