The Trouble With Candle Holders and Such Things

I bought this little Honu (turtle) tea-lite holder at a local candle shop. I bought tea lights to go in it. I lit one . . . in the bathroom that has no fan (ahem) . . . after a few hours, my reading in the living room was interrupted by a funny smell . . . The tea light melted down and lit the plastic cup on fire and poor little wooden honu went up in smoke, too. If you enlarge the picture (click on it) you'll see the melted plastic and the fact that there's just no fixing this dude. I paid (gulp!) a stupid $6 for it, too.

I sent my kiddos down to the ground to take a picture of me in the living room window. All five of us can comfortably squeeze through and commit suicide at the same time . . . good thing Hols is at someones one-level home . . . I fear she may have lept through this window if she were with us.
I'm the wide open window in the center (if you click on the picture to enlarge it, you can just make me out, I think).
It has taken me a long time to stand at this window and look down without just about filling my shoes with my innards.

just so you know. :0

You are up there in the heavens! Kinda cool but I would get a chill from looking down too. :)

In recent years I am even getting a bit of anxiety going over tall bridges.

You are so darn funny! I'm laughing my innards out! LOL!
Thanks for telling us about those little candle things, though..I will watch mine more carefully.

Wow. Looks like you have a great view. Good lessons with the tea light. I'll remember that.
