Shopping and Getting "Lost"

I'm beat.

It's after four in the afternoon. It's hot. The younger two and I hauled ourselves over to Wal Mart, which is really close by . . . but not when you walk in the wrong direction (as I did) . . . to get school supplies. Not to mention: the bags were quite heavy to carry back, but just manageable. I treated them to a Starbucks frap each, because I had them all over the wrong direction and through the store, knowing they would help haul our stuff back. We had to stop so they could drink them and allow me time to guzzle a huge water I got.

We made it. The only supplies I haven't purchased yet are any not mentioned (you know they'll go to class the first day and I'll have to go buy more stuff) and some sillier stuff for my youngest son (two rolls of paper towels, one box of kleenex, a scrubber sponge, and a box of baby wipes - huh?). I can get that stuff cheaper at the commissary.

I'm making some progress on the cross-stitch for my pay it forward. I'm not sure which person will get it, but it won't be the only handmade thing going out with it. For something so small (stitching) it sure takes plenty of time. Phew.

You tricked me with this post title! You know you can't mention the word "LOST" and live in Hawaii without actually meaning the TV show LOST!! I'm somewhat of a LOST junky.
I thought you had run into the crew beginning to film this next season!
Boy...was I mixed up!
I'll let it slide this time, but, next time...you'll know ;)

I do follow George Garcia's blog. If I ever run into any of the cast I'll try to get past my shyness of asking for their autograph just for you. :) Usually when I meet famous people I don't ask (ever since I met Depeche Mode), but just enjoy making the memory. :)

I have driven past where they film, though.

Still knitting on the baby afghan and my counted x-stitch is very time consuming...just like you, I'll just keep trudging along! Have a grand day! Cathy

Wow you are on the ball with school stuff. When do they start?

Sounds like it is hot hot hot there. I would be at the beach every day!

paper towels and scrubber sponge? what?! that sounds really bizarre for a school supply list!

you're bringing back memories for me right now. i remember when my mom would take my brother and I to Kmart to get all our school clothes and supplies and put them in layaway. and then the weekend before i'd get so excited to get them out of layaway. ah, memories ;)

Kissteen - they start on the 30th for my youngest and the 3rd for the older two (yes, July 30 and August 3). Yup. We're all ready to go . . . open houses this week and . . . off they go!

I agree with Brandie..school shopping was so much more fun back then. Getting that layaway was so awesome!
