Our Sunday

Cathedral of Our Lady of Peace, Honolulu, HI. We attended the noon Mass here today. Here's some history: It was dedicated in 1843 and is the oldest cathedral in continuous use in the U.S. It is the oldest Catholic Church in Hawaii, one of the oldest buildings in downtown Honolulu and is the site of the ordination of Blessed Damien DeVeuster. Pretty cool. The cantor had such a beautiful voice and the priest's homily was divine.

ALL PICTURES ENLARGE: Just click on it.

One of my favourite windows.
The statue outside.
Punchbowl. Just look at the breathtaking views from the top. More to follow.

More pictures of Punchbowl at my other blog (click here).
Then we drove over to where we'll live and found this near our house . . .
Pretty cool, huh? We're this close.
This is an incredibly large banyan tree. Many a romantic (or criminal) has carved into it.
A last minute idea . . . I love taking pictures of my kids.
On the way home, God smiled upon us once again. I never get tired of His bow in the sky.

Hi Sarah! You left a wonderful comment on my blog oh... probably several months ago! You found me through Larry D's blog... You shared with me that you were also discontinuing to homeschool after your move to Hawaii... I just wanted to say HI! and let you know I enjoy your blog... I'd love to compare notes about how the transition goes from homeschool to "school" school occasionally, and I added my own weight loss ticker to my blog, because, by golly, I'm going to lose the rest of that extra weight this year if it kills me! (And if I wind up running a marathon in January, it just might!)

I'm going to look for that book you love so much at the library on my next outing, too!

Pax Christi! (BTW - Hawaii is GORGEOUS... I'm slightly jealous over here in the 115 degree AZ heat!)
