Loads and Loads

My husband popped in a few minutes for lunch and announced our pack out dates. 18 May will be our thousand pound shipment (ETA Oahu late June); 20 May pack up all our crap into crates and boxes with pick up and start the transfer on the 22nd (ETA Oahu some time in late July). So, instead of finishing my prayers this AM, I am now running about rubbish heaping stuff. I'm putting heaps of crap into the back of my van to haul to the dumpster. Now, I ask you, why have I put off doing this in the first place? What the heck is wrong with me that I let stuff I am now going to throw out because we are moving sit here for AGES and not throw it out? What is wrong with me?????

But, something about moving OUT, makes me MOVE, ya know? His announcement has put some FIRE under my arse to get moving. Better on it than out of it, yeah?

Have a blessed day - and pray I don't injure myself in my frenzy!

When Tricia moved to Kotzebue I went down to Vancouver to help her pack up. I was so amazed at all of the STUFF that came out of her tiny 1100 sq ft home that I came home and purged. It is good to rid ourselves of things at times. They just hold us down and back.
Good luck with the packing.
Remember, no matter where you are and what you are doing, it can all be done with prayer. I know you do, I just had to throw that one in:)

July! So you guys are going to visit family between your trip? You'll get it all done. You have plenty of time to clear out. Take it one day at a time. :)

We will fly out in June, still, this is just our packing out stuff. No visiting family at all. Just like I wanted it to make it easier to move w/ animals.

Purging feels good, doesn't it? I will pray for your move...

Truly! don't injure yourself. It could happen so easily and that would be terrible. Whatever it is with you I have the same issue. Maybe I can pretend I'm about to move and do the same thing. (But I don't get to end up in Hawaii)

Regan - under pressure is right. But, as my good friend,Dawn, pointed out, I have time. It's more than enough time. And, I can't pack anything 'cos the movers will repack everything anyway. SO, it's really more of a waiting game where I can get rid of what we don't want - making packing easier in the long run. It won't take too long. In comparison of most folks we know, we have very very little.

Therese - purging is always a good thing; I have clothes that don't fit and by the time I can (because I will) someone else will have been able to enjoy them and I think my tastes will change again.

Rosemary - The end results are rather nice, huh?

PurpleFlowerPatch - You can wait or take the full year, right? I know I have my three lined up to start - but I keep thinking I won't finish them before we pack out - AND - I won't see what is packed until the end of July; may as well relax and make the pay it forwards in HI. I started the one for my friend, Erika, already, though. :)

GrandmaK - thank you and yours for serving our country then and now. We never stop serving our country - at least we shouldn't.
