Soup & Stations

Our chapel hosts Soup and Stations each Friday during Lent. It's quite fun. I mean: the Stations of the Cross are solemn and beautifully done (and I enjoy it immensely) and then we sup together after, and that part is "fun". Each ministry actually hosts one Friday and tonight it is Parish Council. That would be my husband and a few others. So, that means it is ME making soup. Or something. I'm making mac and cheese. I bought ten cans of Amy's Black Bean and Veg soup to warm for tonight, but you know what? I thought, maybe I should try this first. I did. It is awful. Awful! I cannot feed that to anyone. Not even the homeless. I have to find the receipt so I can return them to the commissary. They were about $2.50 a can. I'm returning them.

I have so much going on in my mind, I can't seem to start anywhere today. I slept late - this cold or whatever it is still has a bit of a grip on me and I am (was) exhausted. I need to clean up, start the white wash, finish grading papers and bark at the kids to finish their school day. It all seems like a lot, but it isn't. I just need to get going.

Wish me some energy!

Aw! Get wit it! LOL!
Our parish does the exact same thing! I love it too. Tonight, I have to work though. Sigh. So, I made up for it...went to Mass this a.m. and had a tuna salad samich with my friend Annie and some Cheetos!
I cracked up about your soup ordeal!
Do you like potato with cheddar cheese and a little bit of brocolli in it? I love that.
Well, better let you go get wit it!
Hugs!

Just wanted to let you know I'll remember you tonight in my rosary. Thanks for stopping by and for the kind words about the Sorrowful reflections.
God's peace and hope remain with you today and always.
Blessings,

Kissteen - you know, that soup was just wrong. Anyway, the mac and cheese went over very well. I'd like to thank Kraft. That stuff saved me tonight. :-) Have a blessed weekend yerself, love.

Suz - I love potato soup; I suppose I could make it using veg broth and no bacon. It could work. I may try it. I love tuna salad. Yum! Stations is always so moving for me. . . . I really get into it. The front of my thighs enjoy the Lenten workout, too!

Jennifer - thank you. I so need the prayers. Your reflections are just so beautiful. I'm glad you are doing them. Thank you. You have my prayers.

We have a Lenten Liturgy on Fridays (and Wednesdays) and then a soup supper, I know what you mean about it being a blessing.

And, I'm sorry to hear, I usually like Amy's brand. But, I also like those soups in a carton.

ROFL!!!! Does it hurt your thighs too? Oh I tell ya..I thought there was something wrong with me..here I've been a kneeling Catholic all my life and this is a killer already! LOL! My Teresa is here and we're both laughing at your comment and she says.."Mom! (as she is demonstrating lunges across the livingroom floor in front of me) You don't go around walkin or kneelin like this! That's why it hurts!"
LOL Still, it doesn't hurt her just yet! She'll see and then she won't make fun of us! (me) Ha!
PS This is the child who soooo wants to go visit HA! She's a little jealous of you.

Excellent idea and I found myself chuckling over the soup. I buy this soup and add it into a big vat of homemade leftover concoction to give it more beany flavor. I vote NOT on its own either, but it does add flavor well to others. hee hee God bless!
