Knackered

I have a sink of dishes needing to be washed. I have prayers to be prayed (and this is more important than anything else to/for me!!) . . . but all I want to do is read Ken Follett's "World Without End" and maybe fall to sleep ASAP (not 'cos the book is dull - far far far from it)! I got under three hours of sleep last night (hmmmm, could have been some insomnia posts I read the other day got to me??? Naw . . .). I ran ran ran around today, too. I promised to take my eldest to the mall after school today - and we all went. He got himself some of those wrist bands. You know, the fuzzy terrycloth ones we all wore in the 80's for gym class or tennis? Now they are "hip" and have patches on them (one of his is an Irish lucky clover). My girl and I got matching, tho' differing colour, hats . . . and my youngest got a music cd. Nothing terribly exciting.

So, instead of going to bed and reading until I drop into dreams of stories of old . . . I have laundry to fold, dishes to clean, and a few boys to await from Scouting. And, I must remember to tell my hubs that our sponsor from Hawaii is expecting a phone call back tonight. Lucky me, I was able to ask said gentleman if the gov't housing there did, indeed, have washer and dryers already there. The answer is in the affirmative. So I have to sell these:

Yes, the Whirlpool Duet Sport machines in white with the drawers beneath. We paid $2100 two years ago and they depreciate about 17% a year . . . uff da! Well, it's better than storing them for three or more years - then they're just absolutely useless.

I know what you mean - it is about 1 am here and I am still up reading blogs! What am I doing? I really need to stop and go to bed. Good luck finding a loving home for your washer/dryer - oh and I hope you sleep well :-)

I accidently went to your smorgasbord to thank you for your prayers and encouragement. So I will say thanks here also.
Are you stopping off in Wa on your way to Hawaii?
The clothes and dishes will be waiting tomorrow, I promise if they do not get done they will not magically disappear.

It sounds like you are being reassigned? Perhaps it's difficult to sleep because you are in Operation Get Organized mode. Ron was with the Corp of Engineers. They moved an entire battalion from Ft. Carson to Ft Ord in the 70's). I'd barely gotten unpacked when we packed again. Then we lived off post for about 3 months until housing was available and then we moved one more time. I was eight months pregnant when the move started with an 18 month child. David wa born in December and we moved on post in February...Talk about PTSS! God always provided and we were fine but I didn't sleep well then either. Wishing you gentle sleep tonight and a good restful day tomorrow! Cathy

Y'all are so sweet. I did rest very well - normal morning "I don't want to get up, exactly, but my high school boy asked me to make his lunch . . . off I go" routine. But, I feel much better rested and less of a foggy doggy mind.

Yes, we are moving to HI (Oahu) the first week of June. We were going to stop by Bainbridge/Seattle on the way - and still might (heavy on the might). My hubs has to report before the 18th I think. I can't remember the specific date, but he said something about us flying straight there together. In a way, this releaves me greatly: flying with the dog won't be as difficult (we're still looking to give our four year old cat away here) and the wait for on post housing is 3-6 months. That said, there's no real stress as we have BAH (basic housing allowance) that will get us a renter if we need it. The move has given me some normal moving stress, but you know I trust we'll get there even if some of our stuff doesn't - and it's just stuff.

Meanwhile, we're going to buy a new sofa, chair, ottoman, tables and bookcases from IKEA before we move. I can't wait. Our current stuff is fifteen years old and beyond beyond gone. I just want to get to HI already, yeah?
