Okay, h/t goes to Creative Minority Report (link under my blogroll). I saw this trailer over at his site and just about died laughing.
http://www.sonypictures.com/movies/yearone to preview Year One - a film to be released this summer, from what I gather. It has Jack Black in it and a score of others and the story runs along Mel Brooks/Monty Python type humour. So be warned. I do not offend easily when it comes to film - really, I don't. I'm married to a man who says that people expect too much out of films altogether. I agree. Of course, I have found some films absolutely dumber than dumb and some that are extremely sexual - I object to those sorts of films.
I do love British humour, though. Betcha all didn't know that! So. I like a show that ran in the UK called Father Ted. There's a whole lotta mocking the Church going on - but one priest who does constantly point out what the Church actually teaches. Is it clean? No, not really. There's the cursing, the alcoholic priest and the really nitwitty priest, Dougal. Do my kids watch it? NO WAY. I rarely watch it myself, having it on DVD. I prefer The Vicar of Dibley easily to Father Ted, but find both okay for adult viewing. Leastwise, funnier than Benny Hill, see?
Okay, so you have been warned. I keep my posts really rather clean, but I think it only fair to point out my telly weaknesses. I just might cough up some change to go see this film in cinema when it comes out.

Please do ring me up. Dave is taking the kids to homeschool group this morning so I'm free to do laundry and do a bit more housecleaning. If you can take my coughing than I can take your gravelly voice. :)
Sarah - we share a preference for good British humour (you have to remember the "u" when talking about British things, you know!) Monty Python, Fawlty Towers, The Good Neighbors, and my alltime favorite, Dr Who...ok, technically not a comedy, but it's filled with great toss away one liners every episode, and the older ones were great (esp the Tom Baker ones from the late 70's).
The Dave Allen Show was funny too, but he's technically Irish.
