FOR TODAY 06 January 2009 (I'll be on time with this next Monday) . . .
Outside My Window... it's gray skies and calmly misting.
I am thinking... I have much cleaning to get around to this week.
I am thankful for... the stillness and peace within my heart in spite of the chaos of life.
From the learning rooms... an exuberant "yeah, I'm done!" from my youngest son.
From the kitchen... a tin of ravioli is my youngest son's lunch choice (yuck).
I am wearing... jeans and a NAVY sweatshirt.
I am creating... finishing up (very slowly) my youngest son's baby cross stitch. I had hoped to finish it by year end (2008), but alas! I trod on with it in the new year.
I am going... to be home all day, working on this and that.
I am reading... The Diary of a Country Priest (finally!), Catholicism for Dummies (nearly done),
and books related to Divine Mercy Cenacle.
I am hoping... Obama's heart turns to pro-life.
I am hearing... very little actually (what, with being hearing impaired; but also my door is shut so I really only hear the noise in my head and the keys clacking).
Around the house... it's getting quieter as the girl starts her school day (late as usual, but she always finishes).
One of my favorite things... hot coffee!
A Few Plans For The Rest Of The Week: two babysitting jobs (Wed. and Friday), son's drum lessons (Thursday), Divine Mercy Cenacle (Wednesday evening) . . .being a calmer mum and wife to these precious folks God's blessed me with.
Here is picture thought I am sharing...
I'm praying much for this boy, my eldest, that he finds sure confidence in God. He's a bustling, and slightly rebellious 14 year old. He's sweet and gentle and unfortunately, lacking confidence.

sending a quick prayer your sons way.

i love your new button.that is so neat. how about i send a prayer your sons' way and you send one my sons' way.(goodness i hope i am using those apostrophes correctly, sometimes i think i have no business homeschooling my children=)!!!) those rebellious
14yos need lots of love and prayer, don't they?
and thanks for the encouragement on my patron saint. i really never would have thought of her on my own. i saw lists of saints and wondered, wow, how would a person go about choosing one. i can't remember what i was doing and then this image of her, the sorrowful mother popped up and it was as if she said: here i am....and i am ok with that, because if any of the saints have something for me to learn, she would be the one.
and finally, i wish you many graces from your year with Sr. Faustina. ......Jesus i trust in you.....those 5 words are my MANTRA. i don't know what i would do if i couldn't say that line!
happy epiphany=)
Thanks so much. He's such a sweet boy . . . the local high school - just the kids that have no rules or slack rules at home - their rudeness and swearing (with no teachers telling them not to) is rubbing off. He's shorter and thinner than most of his class - the girls call him "cute" - his ego is bruised a bit. I pulled out a photo of his dad in his freshman year - his dad had the same "problems" but is now 5'11" and well, too heavy now, but when I met him 178 lbs. Quite nice. I just wish he'd trust God's plan for him, regardless of his size.
regan - you and your son have my prayers, definitely. Don't worry about the placement of apostrophes - at least you can spell apostrophe, yeah? :-) Anyway, I'm with you: Jesus, I trust in You, are the sweetest five words next to Hail, Mary, Full of Grace!!
Finally getting caught up on the blogs!! I am loving these reflections that you do. I also love your new button. Where'd you get it? I have a button on my Facebook page that says - Who died and made the Cathoilc Church king? Oh, wait...."
Oh, Lord! Please bless all of our sons! We need You..they need You.
We have angels traveling all around them and we thank You for those angels. We have our Blessed Mother who whispers in their ears. Please..help their ears to hear!
Please give them consciences about others and respect and a soft heart for things done wrongly to others. Give them a will to be in balance and to enjoy their lives in a reasonable way...with only little mischief..very little! Thank you, Lord, God Almighty!
Amen
Sending prayers for your son. He's a very good looking boy!
Yes, prayers for all our sons!!
Prayers for your son, I have one of those too.
isn't it funny how we often refer to teenagers as "those", like they are creatures from outerspace. well, i guess it is because sometimes they act like it! my big sonny boy has actually been behavin' the past few days. so helpful around the house, taking trash out, cleaning up after himself and even got a haircut. he too is a CUTIE, all capitals. that could be part of the problem. my husband thinks you can't be good looking and well-behaved....jim caviezel anyone?? it IS possible. so i am with Jaimie, prayers for ALL our sons.
ps. i am so glad i spelled apostrophe correctly yesterday. the comments section should have spell check!
