My husband and I have been cleaning up messes from both ends of this critter over the weekend. Thankfully, I have already made appointments at the vet for tomorrow morning - basically for the start of overseas screening (can't take rabies into HI) - but maybe the cat has some stupid virus. Ugh! Anyway, this pic is too dern precious, huh? Poor Galadriel and her upset tum tum. My girl guesses it's from eating the fake tree in the game room. She may be on to something.

I'm too sexy for this god-awful rotten green sofa and that fattening upper sweatshirt, yeah?

And, well, this thing. Holly gets into EVERYTHING. She ate my favourite ornament, too. It was a Mr. and Mrs. Claus in their bed together - just being cozy grandparents, nothing racy. Of course, you all know that. Anyway, I was so mad I didn't think that dern dog would see another Christmas let alone Easter. Or the New Year. But, alas! I let her live. I had enjoyed that funny ornament for about ten years now. So. It wasn't the only ornament to bite the dust this year. I dropped a snowman and busted his carrot nose right clean off. I was going to super glue it back on and thought, "forget it". It wouldn't look the same and whatever. I have so many ornaments and I bought this one so it didn't tweak the sentimentality button.
Any of you lose an ornament this year?

Poor thing, I think your daughter is on to something.
You look great!
I love hearing about pooch stories. Way more then what the kids get into.
My favorite ornament was from my mother. Glass so thin it was like invisible. Beautiful glass ball. I always hung it last and right in the middle and right in the front.
Along comes a kid (my oldest) bouncing a rubber ball and bam...it shattered by glass ball...sniff sniff.
You are too sexy for that shirt and couch! You look fabulous! And, we didn't lose any ornaments this year, because we didn't really hang much. We learned our lesson from last year, which had a three and one year old pretty much break all we had. We hang nice stuff when they're older (or out of the house...:-)
You do look super...not sure I could type that you look sexy...well, I just did!
Ornaments? my kids made a lot of fuse bead ornaments this year and yes, the 4 year old broke them on purpose and hid the remains in the bottom of the tree, in the tree water. Yes, there were tears.
I did a HUGE batch of fix-em-ups during the holiday break. My glue gun got a work out and of course a few things ended up in the trash because in reality - it was a great excuse to get rid of some things. Lots of ornaments didn't even come out of the container this year, in an effort to maintain my sanity. All the fragile ones went straight to the top, and the kids decorated the bottom half with all the ones I could care less about - or are simply unbreakable. My 1 year old had fun seeing all those "toys" on there - but amazingly she left most of them alone.
About puppies - my parents' dog got a hold of all the "good smelling" things under the tree. So when we arrived with presents - into a locked room they went because all of them had popcorn or chocolate in them. SO far she hasn't nibbled any decorations.
You look fabulous darling! And your Holly is adorable!
No, but you can send your kitty and puppy to me when you go to Hawaii! PULEEEZZZ! So cute ... so cute!
You too..cute, I mean! :) Hugs to all 3 of you! You be nice to that puppy...its just a puppy!!!!! ROFL!
(Sorry) ;)
Actually, Suzanne, we are now actively seeking a home for the cat (Galadriel), because even though she is healthy (as per yesterday's vet visit) the move to HI will most definitley stress her out. She's in indoor cat and always has been; recently declawed, and she isn't quite five years old yet. She's very sweet and playful, but I fear the plane ride will just make her go over the edge. I'm hoping a local family we know will take her on. My girl will be so upset, but I can't see putting the cat through the trama. Now, Holly, that dog is tough stuff. She probably won't like flying, being separated from us on the plane etc., but I think she's going to pop out of her kenel and be her normal self straight away.
Would it be wrong to suggest taking her but giving her some "calm me down knock her out stuff" just for the plane ride? I would never ever suggest such a thing, normally, but your little girl..just wondering? Tell me to shut up next time..k?
Suzanne - I have actually had a calm, lovely chat with my girl this morning about doing what we think is best (as a family) for the cat's best interests. She seems to be okay with giving the cat the best option even if it means we don't keep her. We may be clearing out of here before the end of April - we have time, but we don't have time, you know? I'm hoping some one will want her and take her. My sister said if we got her to Seattle, she'd keep her, but if we manage to get the cat that far, what more is flying the rest of the way? I'll keep posting on this, I'm sure.
