Good Morning America?

Can I just point out that the first thing I read on the net this AM is that we have a first black president elect? Let's not forget he's WHITE, too. For Pete'sakes! Even he said that his colour doesn't matter. Can we not go there as a Nation, please? After all, we have heard nothing but the word "change" during the whole of his campaign.

I voted McCain/Palin, of course, but you know what? I'm not sour or feeling defeated by Barack's win. On no account am I disturbed by this. I'm not even surprised. I don't fundamentally believe in licking wounds or holding grudges. I believe in rallying behind the good things in a leader - and PRAYING for said leader. Praying for our leaders is KEY. Also, last night was not the last vote you'll ever make. Vote in ALL elections - even the mundane - to get your voice heard. Also, keep your representatives contact information handy so you can pop off a letter, email or phone call when you agree and disagree about bills they are supporting. Let them hear you in the BEGINNING.

Yes, I know that we are looking down the barrel of a loaded shotgun (perhaps, if I'm to be bleak about this win at all), but I dare to HOPE. My God IS - and I have great Faith in Him. Look, facing your death (real or imagined) helps one gain a true perspective. I can't be riddled with anxiety because one day all of this will end - that's a fact that it surely will. I'm glad I don't know when - and therein lies my hope as well. I can only do as God mandated from the beginning: to Love and Serve Him in this life so I can be with Him in the next; and, to love my neighbours as myself. This includes Barrack Obama.

Our Lady of the America's, Pray for us.

God Bless America.

I noticed the race comments last night. All of a sudden, when they began declaring his win, it was all about him being black. Juan Williams, on Fox, was teary eyed and choked up. Come on folks! We'll see what reality brings.

Amen! I was thinking the same this morning about not being upset about the win, but praying for our new leader.

You are a good Christian. I'm not there yet -- mourning for the poor babies -- but hopefully I will. I guess I do hold a bit of a grudge.

Dawn - it figures, doesn't it? I'm not bitter - just like, let us be equal about this: he's half and half.

Jen - keep praying! There are, as SCMOM pointed out - so many lives at stake!!

scmom - I'm in the same struggles and battles and glad to have you (all) on my side. I too mourn for the loss of all . . . it's just an ache that never goes away . . . and you'll get there. A real fight always fatiques. I suggest resting in the Lord. Ask Our Lady to hold you up. She will! And, keep praying. Do what you said about not pumping any more money into the economy past needs. I've discussed this with my husband and he's really keen on that idea and going with it. It's never bad to have your needs met and with the extra doing good for others. This country isn't lost yet. Not by a long shot. I'll keep you in my prayers!

After I saw Oprah face 5 times on the TV....crying I turned the TV off.

At first I was like....dang we lost then when all the "race" stuff started I was perplexed?

Great post. I am on scmom side. Very sad.

I'd say he has a checkered past, that one. ;-)

Good post, Sarah. Thanks for joining the cause with me.

There were a plenty of disciples of Jesus praying from and preaching from prison - they didn't give up. Why should we?

Go forth.

I feel much the same way about the outcome of this election. I hoped and I prayed and I voted differently, but since Obama was elected I am ready to start praying for him. This should encourage us social conservatives to voice ourselves a bit more than we have over the last 8 yrs while Bush was in office and he was "safe" or "good enough." I am guilty of sitting idly by for much of that time, but we must make our voices heard so that Obama and others (media?) will know that this is still a "center right" country and not "center left." With prayer and action, these next 4 years may not be as bad as we fear. (Senators, congressmen, and presidents do usually like to be re-elected.)
