. . . when a box of books arrives a whole day earlier than expected! and I have vowed I will not touch them (there are five books beckoning me) until I finish reading The Mystical City of God.
Lord, help me! I've already fanned and sniffed every books pages! There are over 622 pages left for me to read in the other book (I'm only "so far" in . . . and it's such a long, but beautiful book and I do not want to rush it). Help me pace myself.
Amen.
Here's a gorgeous setting for you . . .
A few bird pics I took this morning (esp. for Dawn who has a thing for cardinals). I know they aren't brilliant shots, but I'm shooting with a wonky camera with limited lens zoom and through a kitchen window.
I'd share a video I made going over the Bridge this morning, but the camera batteries decided to die before I finished. Plus, in reviewing it, I really talk too much. I promise to try again soon. I'm keeping the camera in my purse for such an ocassion. However, I may just walk my fat butt over the bridge to take pictures instead. Who the heck wants to hear me yap on for yonks?

So you decided to start with Mystical City of God...would love to hear your thoughts on it...Corinne gave it to me last year and I have yet to crack it open as my hubby stole it from me and he is reading it! may need to steal it back!
Therese - I've had it for eons. I read about three hundred pages in, set it aside (not really liking it, not really disliking it; not the time). In the move the bookmark fell out so I've begun again. The first time I began to read it, I had just read Catherine Emmerich's book on Mary . . . and both authors tell a very different story about Mary's childhood etc. so I was "mentally arguing" with Mystical City of God, comparing it to Emmerich's book. This time, my mind is on the important point: Mary was chosen by God and is a powerful intercessor etc.. Both books edify you in your love for Mary (proper admiration of her).
LOL...fanned and sniffed them! you crack me up. so hard to refrain!! i start books when i'm in the middle of 4 others because i can't resist.
OH my gosh! It's so nice to meet a fellow book addict! UGH...I have so many that I need to read. I promise myself (I'm seriously good at that part)that I will NOT buy another book until I've read at least two the I have currently (yeah, whatever). Guess how often I keep that resolve?
You are hilarious! Beautiful pictures. And I have to laugh at you trying to restrain yourself from starting new books before you've finished the old ones, because I have the same problem. I'm in the middle of about 4 books at the same time, and it ain't pretty.
Bless you. Pace yourself. Easy does it.
There's nothing like the smell of a brand new book - and nothing like the smell of a well-worn, well read book. *sigh*
So you're a book sniffer, too, eh?
Jen, I sniff the Dickens out of them!@ ha ha ha!!!!
