Confession & the State of the Economy

Please pray that the priest who is supposed to be in the confessional by 4:30pm today is in there as I approach.  I have been in desparate need of confession for about five weeks now.  I really loathe the "scheduled" confessions . . . I usually only go when I.have.to.go.or.I.don't.get.Jesus.in.the.Sacrament.

I pray that I'm able to get "in the box" so I can Receive again.  I've been so very lost.

That said, I know my whole life will improve incredibly after I go!  That's what I like about confession.

Okay, now on to this consumer business . . . "they" are predicting again . . . based on what's sold and gift cards etc. used to forecast the shape of the economy.  I think holiday's are the economy . . . which is really rather pathetic.

I'm really re-thinking how Christmas 2010 is going to be spent.  What about you?

Missing my friend here. It's been an interesting Christmas so far..and still 10 days to go! May God bless you richly as you receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation. It is a wonderful thing.

My thoughts exactly...how can 2010 be different...especially at Christmas? So burned out this year.

You always crack me up! Sometimes when I go to confession I get so nervous [the box freaks me out] that my mind goes blank and I forget all my sins:) This happens to my mom, too. She has to bring a list with her.

Mary - I actually do the list thing, too. I think priest prefer we do that to keep us on track. One time I left my list behind and sat there, counting on my fingers in mock attempt to recall all I had listed, and, said, "Um" probably a good zillion times. Poor priest! Of course, God knows that list and I did my best and those unintentionally untold ones were forgiven too.
