So, I've been hiding in the books The Lord of the Rings lately. Once I close the last book (which I am reading now), I know I'll watch the films again . . . and then again with the commentary of the actors (the voice overs while you watch the film; the actors talk about what was going on etc. - it's really pretty cool). But, that's, like, 9 hours back to back, or more. Uff!
He's still my favourite character:

Here's a lovely award I was given by Allison. Thank you, lovely lady!
IF YOU COULD COME BACK AS AN ANIMAL, WHICH WOULD IT BE?
A bald eagle (if this question were geared toward an inanimate object, I would hands down choose a cricket bat)

THE COLORS YOU TEND TO WEAR ARE
red . . . and blues
THREE WORDS THAT DEFINE YOU
Christian. Creative. Laughter.

The United Kingdom (if that hasn't be said enough for God'sakes!)
YOUR FAVORITE QUOTE FROM A BOOK OR MOVIE

SOMETHING YOU WOULD LIKE TO DO

YOUR MAIN STRENGTH/FORTE
laughter man, seeing the funny in the whole of it.
You are also supposed to send this on to seven "young" blogs and seven blogs of wisdom. the nice thing about something like this is that it enables us to get to know one another just a little bit better and these 'tags, you're it' are fun and finally, if you have blogger's block, instead of walking around the block (get it...hee, hee???), you have something instant and easy to post.
- I am too awful lazy to do this part. Most of the folks on my side bar have been at blogging a while and not too young in it, but if you are one who has been blogging less than two years, help yourself to this award, please!
- As far as wisdom is concerned, I don't link to dumdums, so if you fancy yourself as wise as I do, snap this up for yourself! Trust me, I don't waste my time on blogs I don't like. If I follow you or you're on my sidebar, it's good.

Ooo Legolas is my favorite character too!
I actually just started blogging this past May. I think that makes me a pretty young blog! But, I'd feel odd awarding myself anything. :)
It's been fun reading your memes the past few days. Finding out little tid-bits about you =)
I thought I was the only person who liked to watch the LOTR voice-over commentary! I'm glad to know I'm not alone... :D I love the movies AND the books. Are you reading them for the first time?
Sharon, this is my second time reading the books. I've watched the films numerous times, I watched the voice over stuff AND how they made the films as well. LOADS of watching, but so worth it. The "magic" of movie making captures my attention and keeps it. I'm just intrigued by the innovation.
Sharon: here's a brief on how I got into LOTRs. My husband has his set of books from H.S. He says all through our marriage to read the books, I won't regret it. I ignore them, because when I was in H.S. I read the first pages of The Hobbit and said, "I'm not reading some story about a rabbit in the ground!" BOOK SNOT!! Anyway, the movies were coming out and Chief was super excited. We went w/ the kids, the youngest was maybe three? or younger? (I'm old, I forget) and we were all glued GLUED to the screen. I kinda fought going to this thing, but because my MIL used to babysit Elijah Wood as a kid, and knowing his cousins and grandparents, I was like, "okay". Yeah, I know. Small world. Then, I read the books. I had to. The rest is history!
[smiling] This was grand! Thank you! Cathy
Hi Sarah,
Ok, just a few comments. I agree on the studies that it gets so into the touchy-feely that we miss the intent of the study, which was to learn about a particular book or lessons from the Bible.
We are currently working on Acts and we have used the New Jerome Bible Commentary, the New Jerome Bible Handbook, which has a fabulous outline for us to use with the Acts. We are also using the Ignatius Catholic Study Bible "The Acts of the Apostles" and the Navarre Bible "Acts of the Apostles". Kind of a compilation of several Bible studies to get really into the Acts and understand the history, reason written and messages from the Acts for Christians. I am loving every minute of it. "B" is teaching it and I am helping out with the research and summaries. Took us over 4 hours to prep for the 1 hour class last Sunday, and it was worth every minute.
Sorry to be so long, but there is a wealth of good Catholic Bible study info out there, and we really do need to do our work on the good ones. Build up our knowledge of the Bible and go from there. Just my two cents ( or from the length of my note, my five bucks worth).
love ya, miss ya and take care...bev
PS: jump back into MCCW, the organization and ladies need you! Just a little guilt trip.
PSS: "B" is dealing with the reality of having me as his assistant! :)
OOhhh....I could go for a LOR's movie marathon again! It's also a great fall/winter book to cozy up with. I have been restless reading and that might be just the thing.
PS...Aragon is my favorite...kind of mysterious...and sexy to boot : )
He's my favorite character, too... mostly because he's played by Orlando Bloom. Yummy! (oh, did I say that out loud?!)
Love the new template! (The one with flowers!) You must be in a remodeling mood lately!
