I love Damien! I read a book about his life a while back, it was very interesting!

Have you visited Moloka'i yet? We did on a trip to Maui. It was a great little pilgrimage.

BTW, love your spooky background. I've been thinking of making some changes to my blog. Do you like the program you use?

I heard about his canonization on the radio last week. I bet it was a great blessing to be in Hawaii yesterday =)

God bless you, Sarah!

The MCCW group of gels are planning a trip to Moloka'i . . . I'll be with them, God willing. I think it's going to be in the spring next year? First up, in November is a visit to a Benedictine Monastery. I can't wait . . . I'll be sharing here, for sure.

btw, St. Damien benefits us all - and I mean ALL of us. Not just Hawaii . . . i know it goes w/out saying, but I had to say it.

oh, and I'm watching for the day the relics get placed at the Cathedral in Honolulu . . . I'll go maybe that day (depends on traffic etc. - and I'm not 'crowd' gel) . . . but I'll get there and take pics.

A great day for Hawaii and for us all. Another saint to admire and emulate.

What a beautiful picture/holy card?

He's one of my favorites... I watched that documentary about him on EWTN last week, and just started crying when the narrator (Robin Williams! Weird!) read from St. Damien's writings about how 'joyful he was to have leprosy so he could truly be like his people he loved so much'... wow!
