I have to say, this month is full of great celebrations, the least of which will be my 40th birthday. Yeah, I know . . . . pass the Kleenex!
I would make and give away a rosary, but my mum ordered seven rosaries from me and I await the parts (along with the parts to make my brother one) . . . so I won't be doing that this month. I will some other time, have a rosary or chaplet give away. I promise. It's just that my mum comes first. (hold your applause, please, it's embarrassing).
Instead, I have purchased some "items" that are rather "Hawaiianish" to give away all at once. The announcement of said give away will come soon (two weeks?) accompanied with a picture. So stay tuned.
Last year, around this time, I traveled to San Antonio with a great bunch of gels from Fort Meade. Gosh, I so miss those ladies!! Anyhoo, I also got to reconnect with my dear friend, Dawn (A Helping Hand). One thing I love about the military is the reconnecting that happens when you move or someone else moves and it's either here or there but near someone you have become friends with before. It's cool!
There are many Saints to celebrate, too, and most of them are my favourites!
Today, St. Therese.
2nd - Guardian Angels
4th - St. Francis of Assisi (my Patron)
5th -St. Faustina
7th - Our Lady of the Rosary
A NEW SAINT THIS YEAR - 11 OCTOBER , ST. DAMIEN!!!
15th - Teresa of Avila
There are more, I'm sure.
But it is exciting to have been born in a month that celebrates powerhouse Saints!
From Mary Day by Day :
Reflection: The Blessed Virgin never shall fail to protect me when I call upon her. When I am troubled, I quickly turn to her. And like the most tender of mothers she looks after me. - St. Therese of Lisieux.
Do not be afraid! for the Bible tells us so. Our Good Shepard leads us, beckons us with the Greatest Love to follow. Only, have Faith, little ones. He shall never leave nor forsake you. Open wide the doors of your hearts and experience the Joy of the Lord!

My birthday is in October, too. And St. Francis is my patron, too. And I make felt ornaments!
Every time I read you, I find more we have in common!
Michelle - can you help me with how to end a blanket stitch so it doesn't show? Aidez moi, s'il vous plait! Merci!!!
Just goes to show you how age gaps lessen the older we get - you were only 12 when I was 24 - I'd been married to George for 2 years already and was pregnant with my oldest son!
Forty was okay... I married Rob when I was 40! Had Roc when I was almost 44. You could still have another you know!!!! ;-)
It's not a feast day but St. Gianna's birthday is Oct. 4.
What a great month, I agree! (My b-day isn't in this month, but my anniversary is!) And your big 4-0! I bet it will be a great day, right???!! =) I love that quote by St. Therese. It ties beautifully into this month of the Rosary!
See if this helps.
Thank you, Michelle!!
