A Picture of a Picture

I know I'm lame . . . but this is the best I can do . . . I think he's afraid to smile. They took about five pics and they chose the best pose . . . hmmmm. You should see his ID pics: always a scowl and never a smile. He he he. Tough Sr. Chief image thing you know.

Thank you all for your lovely comments and all that gushy stuff. I went with the majority and Chief just said, "Whatever makes you happy." I knew he'd say that.

Have a great weekend! I'm going to be cleaning this house. I've neglected it while I reread the Harry Potter books and The Hobbit.

And, by the way, is it just me or are women just awful some times? More than a few of the white chicks at the ball last night scrutinized me quite harshly. You know, the old eyes up and down with a disapproving pucker of their mouths. Ugh! Biotch. I just smiled at them and said, "hullo!" I mean, there were only a few gels that were dressed a bit off, but I'm not going to let my personal preferences rally on my face for them to see it and feel offended. You know? I just want to say, "Don't you look down your nose at me, lady." Am I just imagining how obviously awful some women are? And, then in the bathroom many of them are congregating to chit chat . . . getting in the way of the mirrors 'cos they have to coif . . . give me a bloody break. They all looked fantastic - who in the hell wants to chat up in a bathroom???? GROSS. At the Hale Koa there are many landings and nooks and lanai's to congregate on/at. I go in the bathroom to do my duty and scat. Do not get in the way of me washing my hands.

We love the same books! We just finished reading the Chronicles of Narnia together as a family and started the Harry Potter series last week. I've read them all and loved them. When we're done with that, we're going to read The Hobbit and the Lord of the Rings trilogy.

You look beautiful, BTW.

Lord of the Rings is next . . . but I'm making my bedside evening reading a goal to finish up Confessions by Augustine. I finally unearthed that book out of a box. :) And, your compliment is too kind. Thank you.

Oh! You both look so precious!
I love this picture. Hey..listen up here, girlie..yep, you are right...women can be downright nasty.
Some nevva grow up..nevva! I don't
quite know how they face their ugly selves! LOL!
Anyway, I'm not sure what you were talking about was going on, but my guess is they were sizing everyone up and who was dressed to the hilt and who wasn't and so forth.
Who the flip cares? Did you go, look pretty dad spiffy and have a great time with you the one ya love? THEN, the night was a success! It looks to me like you all did that just fine!
LOL...hanging out in the potty room..now how fashionable is that? LOL!

A most handsome couple!!! From my experience, short though it was, a mere 3 1/2 year in the Army, I found that if I just ignored the "women" and kept to my friends I really didn't have a lot to worry about. I guess at that time (1970) we were sort of rebels...we didn't stand when the commander's wife entered a room...didn't know any better and then when we did we still didn't stand. OOPS!!! I think your terrif!!!! Cathy

Great picture. And.........who the h4*&#@ cares what others think? That is such a shallow attitude, shows just where they are.

Great pic of a pic, Sarah! Glad you had a fun night (minus the gossipy gals—ugh!)

The funny thing is, I don't really care what others think, but I do care about attitude. I shouldn't have said anything . . . but I did let it "get" to me a bit. Sorry!!!

hey..this was your first time out at a an official gathering with the other "wives" right? Of course you are gonna care a bit about how they perceive you. It's natural. I am sure all the new wives were feeling the same way. Especially those whose husbands had just picked up E7.

Hey there Sarah! This is your blog and bloody-hell right I would be biotching (love that word!) about those gals too. I have been using my blog also for a sound board to vent my frustrations with the downright pukiness yukos of the world.

Our world is nutzo right now and people are ruuuuuuude. Next time I give you permission to punch one out....from Kissteen.

Great pic by the way!
