Today is Hawaii's fiftieth birthday as a state. I'm glad we can call HI "home". I wish more folks on the mainland had the Aloha Spirit. So, it is my prayer that each of you sprinkle yourselves with some Aloha Spirit. I think it's pretty much just to be a good person and spread cheer and love.
Be good to others, then it's easier to be good to yourself.
Aloha!

Aloha. My husband and I are sitting in our family room as I write this listening to Hawaiian music and discussing which part of Maui we would like to live. With God's grace we will be living our dream in a couple of years.
Blessings ~Sue
Sue - I pray that you get what you wish for. My youngest really wants to stay longer than one tour (three years, on average). I could keep living here, myself, because the weather is so darn agreeable. However, I would have to be able to leave HI for other destinations for holidays away every other year or so. Island life is great, but even that 'gets old', yeah?
I love that last line, Sarah. "Be good to others..."
Exactly.
And how interesting about it being Hawaii's 50th birthday! You are indeed blessed to be living there, and it's a dream of mine to one day bring the kids.
Much as I loved our visit to Hawaii years ago, I think I would also want to be able to travel back to the continguous states.
Of course my friend Nancy still lives there after her husband got out of the Army.
Did you have birthday cake?
blessings and hugs,
marcy
Marcy, I had one of those Nestle double ice cream cone thingys. Yum.
