Just got back from the third sweaty walk today.
Managed the shredder and pens earlier.
Second time out was to get Cold Stone Creamery . . . I did not finish mine. Who can? I can't. I think that's a good thing. And, I do love ice cream.
Third time is the charm: I got Mysterious Benedict Society (I think I grabbed this title from another blogger - MN mom??? - so it's for kids, but before I can recommend it to my own . . . I must read it), Holy Man (about Father Damien), Guernsey Literary & Potato Peel Pie Society, and Glenn Beck's Common Sense. For my girl, and the whole reason for this third sweaty tour, we got a second copy of Harry Potter's Order of the Phoenix (her copy is in our household goods and falling apart anyway). I took her to get the book because she loves HP and is so content to re-read them and she's been so patient without all her books. As a book lover myself, I totally relate.
She's my book chum and I'll indulge . . . and it does pave the way for my indulgence as well. Ahem.
I better finish reading Hawaii first. It's good, it's thick, it's history with fictional characters to a degree, and it will take me some time to finish.
Kids want to dip in the pool. It's so hot here today, I may as well dip in myself. I'll sit in the 1.5 foot side . . . I hope there's no babies down there when I go . . . I'll feel a right daft joining them if I have to.
P.S. I spot treated the carpet with that Woolite P.O.D. Worked brilliantly! All in the world is right again. Except for certain things, but I'm still praying (i.e. for America and her leaders and for other countries and their leaders who are a bit puffed up of late).

I read the Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society, and it's FABULOUS!! Right now I'm reading Last Child in the Woods: Saving Our Children from Nature Deficit Disorder. I'm a bookaholic.
Thanks, Sharon for filling in the rest of the title for me (I was too lazy to get the book three hundred feet from me, *smile* to be certain of my accuracy there) and for making me want to read the book all more! I must finish "Hawaii" first and it's a BIG book. But, the next one is definitely going to be that one.
cold stone? you are so my kinda girl. and i have trained myself to get the smaller size because i can't ever finish either!!! and if i do it anyway i feel as if i've gained 3 million pounds!
enjoy your "dip" in the pool. we are headed to a movie. and then the mountains overnite with my mum and dad.
hugs.
happy holiday.
keep the prayers for the country going. The way we're going we will definitely need them.
