Saw the doctor this afternoon for my follow-up. He recommend I begin taking my iron tablets for my mild anemia. So, after all, I sat for about 45 minutes waiting on the refill. I also had to pop down to the lab to get my shit kit. Yes, you read that right. They are sick folks, these doctors. They want my pee and my poo. Nice. Actually, they want to rule out ulcer(s). I am grateful for that approach. I am curious about that myself since my diet is all wrong, my stress levels are up (but not unmanageable), and those two combined mean issues with my issues. Yeah. TMI. Sorry. Anyway, this is a process of elimination. Sorry, no pun intended, but it's funny to me now that I think about it. Ha!
I'll be scheduling the ultrasound appointment tomorrow morning. I could get in tomorrow or any time, actually. You never know with military medicine. Here's the thing, when I think about socialized medicine: it's not in the best interest for commoners. First off, there are far fewer rich folks - and they'll always get what they want 'cos they have the bucks talking for them. We'll pay figuratively and literally. I've been in the system long enough to know that being treated the same as everyone else is the pits. I have always gotten relatively okay care with the military - and most of the people working in the clinics and hospitals are excellent. Some of the people (reception and appointment makers) are giant jerks, 'cos they can't be fired (easily, that is) when they have "G+number" jobs.
So, my prescriptions are free right now . . . but not really. I have to take generics many times, and, I don't truly have a choice which doctor sees me. I'd rather have a choice. And, I'm sick of all the telly's in the waiting rooms tuned into CNN. There's always a note stuck on front: DO NOT TOUCH THE TELEVISION. Yeah, okay, Mr. Nazi telly smiter! If I had a choice, I would get rid of the da-- dern tellys to begin with. Most of us bring books to read and would rather do without the constant noise. Anyway, the volume is low enough that the screaming kids make it impossible to hear anything anyhow.
I'll be back.
(Isn't it cool how I threaten y'all like that?)
