Hack hack, sneezy, weazy!

The dust is flying. We're all drippy-nosed now.

I'm in a really calm place today. There is one lady here who is packing/boxing up all of our delicate items (statues, pictures, vases etc.) and the kitchen. She will be upstairs soon to wrap up and box some of the breakables up here (there aren't many, to which I'm sure she - and we! - are thanking God!). The crew will be here tomorrow. My money is on that they will be finished tomorrow. Then we can come back Friday and Saturday to clean up the carpets, floors, and such. Back ourselves out of here.

It sure is an adventure. And, I have solid resolutions . . .

Once we have all of our stuff back and we're moved in somewhere in Oahu, I will be extremely diligent about grinding papers and/or filing them straight away. I will stay up on the dusting (at least once a week - the whole house, no skipping rooms visitors don't ever see). I will not buy any more nick knack paddy whacks. I will use my craft stuff until it's gone and I will complete the photo albums and proper storage of photos and negatives.

I think we lost about 300 pounds in just paper (by the time I am done shredding old bills and school papers). It feels great to get rid of so much, but I keep kicking myself for having to do it all at once - or at all - since I should have just stayed "on it".

No more kicking. I have to get back to work!

Almost five years ago our (old) house was flooded. The water filled our basement and rose 8" into the upstairs of the house (it was a rancher). We had a 1000 sq foot basement...which REALLY means @ 5000 to 6000 cubic feet of stuff. ALL LOST. You would think I would have learned to keep things simple at that point...no such luck.
I admire your determination, though!
Blessings, E

Hey, when you do learn to stay on top of it, will you coach the rest of us...I've a feeling there are a bunch of us out here in bloggersville who do the same and try to keep it up and still end up with piles of papers. I just went through a ton yesterday..I tell ya the stuff that comes in the mail!!!! Grrrrr....
Good for you though..I know it feels like a load off your lap!
Off to work...:)

Indeed, no more kicking! You got rid of a bunch of stuff! Good for you! We've lived in the same place for 23 years and boy do I need to throw stuff out. Everybody does, I think. You've done a great job. And I'm so glad you're in a peaceful place. God is good. Hope you feel better (physically) soon. So excited for you to be in Hawaii!!
