Fun Stuff

Here's the Seven Sorrows Chaplet I just made this afternoon. It's so pretty I can hardly stand it! What I love even more is that they are easy to make and inexpensive. You can get all the parts to make this in a kit from www.rosaryparts.com for under $12 plus s/h. There are colour choices as well. A pair of needle nose pliers and you're in business. For me, it's therapeutic to make them as well as pray them.

Here's the car rosary. One of you lucky ducks will win this (along with the booklet and tiny rosary from the Shrine).
And, last but not least, I finished my dolly. She looks as happy as I feel.

Now my sewing machine and pliers are being tucked away . . . I need to focus on putting away other things (like the candle holders into their original boxes, if I have them). Putting all the books together, sorting clothes.
But, I'm content. I hope you are. Now, if you want that car rosary (and stuff), leave a comment. I'm dutifully writing down each persons name as comments are left.

You have so many talents, O crafty one.

Do you need needle-nose pliers for all the links?

These looks sooooo professional. Nice job!

They all look great! You have my name for the drawing, right??? ;)

Thanks for the lovely comment today. I am starting to feel better. I hate feeling sorry for myself and whiny-thanks for listening!

JMJ - the funny thing about my talents is: they must be from God 'cos I don't know where else they'd be from! And, you know, in my humble opinion, I know at least one blogger who makes them much better than I do! Her pins (yes, you use pliers for the linking and bending) are perfect. I have a St. Michael's Chaplet from her - GORGEOUS and perfect. She has talent and patience. Even when I go at it slowly, I don't seem to get the curve just right. But, as long as they don't kink up, it works for me. I'm going to cut string and set up to make the mission bead/rope rosaries while we move/travel to HI. It's a long flight! And, I'm packing two xstitch kits in my luggage. :)

Therese - yes, you are in the drawing! I plan on making an order for supplies once we get an address in HI . . . so keep your eyes peeled . . . another give away isn't that far off. But, good luck for this time, too!!! And, as far as your rant, geesh, we all have to let loose now and again - just remember to RETURN to the Father every time. Eventually, every time you feel down or put out, you'll go to Him first. Yeah, I'm really needing to work on that myself. Love and hugs,
Sarah

Jenny of Elefantz - I just may make you one of these in HI and mail you it. Email me your address so I can plan ahead! Maybe I can find some great tropical HI shirts to cut down and make some for you. :)

What a sweet dolly, but those beads are something else! Are you sure you haven't been doing this for a very long time? Lovely! Thought of your while I was traveling, thinking mostly about your journey ahead. Catch one of those ABC stores (yes?) when you land to fetch so many good buys. Such an exciting time but the stress is mighty. Have a nice hot cuppa joe every time you feel the pressure, or a bubble bath, or ?? and know the fruit of the new home in Hawaii awaits. (Jeremiah 29:11) God Bless. :-)

Thanks all for your kind comments.

Renee - I think I've been making the chain-link rosaries for about five years, but in all honesty, I've made 2 car rosaries, maybe 12 chain-link rosaries, fixed several chain-link rosaries . . . and one chaplet. I also make knot and bead mission rosaries. So, over that span of time, it's not much practice to make them as nice as I'd like. I plan on buying supplies (in greater number/bulk) so I can keep up on it while my eyesight is good and my hands can do the work. Thanks for the kind thoughts and compliments. I will definitely enjoy relaxing once we get there.
