Checking In So You Can All Rest Tonight

I got to Andrews Air Force Base hospital about five and got out of there about eight tonight. I got an IV where they took blood and injected some pain meds. They were all asking me if I had given them my urine sample yet . . . I just wanted to ask, "What's the big whoop about my pee? Yes, I did that almost first thing in the door!" Anyhoo, had some x-rays done.

Nothing.

But I have to call my regular doctor and set up a follow up appointment with an ultrasound to rule out gallstones.

So, I'm not dying. At least not yet. Maybe not for a long time (there's where my money is). The pain meds have worn off now so I am just going to go to bed. If the pain sticks around, I'll take some Motrin. They gave me percocet and (get this!) stool softener prescriptions. They said to fill them at some corner drug store. WHY? I can get that stuff free at the clinic tomorrow. And anyway, I can't take percocet (it makes me puke) and stool softners? Apparently there's an unpleasant side effect to percocet. NO THANKS. I'll just skip those meds and if I think I need more pain killin' juice than Motrin can give me, I'll ask for Tylenol 3 (yeah, baby!).

Many thanks for your concerns and prayers for me. More news later! Until then, again, thank you so much for your prayers.

A side effect of percoset is very bad constipation. That's why they wanted you to take the stool softner. Take it from someone whose had four c-sections and take percoset after all of them (can't take Tylenol 3 because that makes me puke). It's not pretty if you don't take them!

Prayers for some answers for you. At least it's not kidney stones...that's what I was sort of thinking....

Hoping that your mystery ailment just disappears -- doesn't your body know you don't have time for this? ;-)
