Praying

This weekend, amidst the daily grind of running a household, I will be praying. Squirrel Boy is challenging us (me) beyond measure, and, I fear I am going to weaken and my only strength lies in the Lord. I don't even ask for mercy at this point, but for forgiveness. Forgive me for being short-tempered, for not being strong enough when I need to be, for yelling and swearing, and pretending that maybe some things will just fix themselves. In the face of this teenager, help me remember that he is my son, after all, and Lord, I thank you for him. No matter what: Jesus, I trust in you.

You'll make it (and so will your son). It's God's way of helping you get to heaven ;-)

Thinking of you! Trials and crosses and teens...lump them all together. Hang in there. Love him a little more. Grab a glove and go play some catch with the fellow...feed him some food...make sure he gets some good sleep....knock him upside the head...hee hee...just kidding...then love him a little more. Kill him with kindness??? Or have ya tried that.

Mom hugs and prayers to you. Remember that the prayers of a mother have great power.

Thanks, girls. You know, my friend, Dawn, said it could take a long time, but don't give up. Remember St. Monica. Yes, let's remember her! And, at least that "battle" is won with my son. He's just rebelling against school more than anything, NOT against his Faith (Thank God).

Hugs to you all,
Sarah

PFP - thank you for the link. I went and read it and boy! I can so relate. It was great to read that, so thank you for sharing. Thanks for the hugs and prayers, too!

Stay strong. Satan makes it tempting to give in, but stay on the path to God. This is a long and bumpy road with our teens.
