Crafting and Baking

It's a pretty picture.
So, I have a job to do today. One that I love. LOVE, I tell you!
I'm baking two loaves of pumpkin bread - both to give away (one to a family who lost a loved one; and one to the family who's picking up the loaf to deliver to the family who lost a loved one - just 'cos we all love each other and know each other - and it feels good to bake).
I'm also going to make a few cards. There's a birthday girl this month (not sure of the exact day, but that doesn't matter to me). Her card will be mailed out today or tomorrow, depending upon when I get it put in the outbox. I hope she is going to ring tons of bells when she get it.
Squirrel Boy is planning his 15th birthday this month. He wants cash and a certain dessert I learned to make from my in-laws. Those ladies really have a few knock-out de-lish desserts up their sleeves. I've learned so many good things from Mom, Mary, Dawn, and Teenah.
So, I gotta run again and tie on my apron and get a move on. I'm just debating whether I should prank the delivery family (and bake a plastic baby into their loaf). Hmmmmmm. Maybe. You know, I got it from the King's Cake a few Mardi Gras ago. It would be funny and would secure me in their memories for years.

Yeah, the pumpkin bread loaves are baking rigth now and they smell heavenly! I'm almost grateful we are giving them away . . . I don't need any more calories today!

Just don't accidentally give the prank loaf to the wrong family. The joke would be on you! ;-)

Sounds like a fun day.

All those supplies sure make a pretty photo. I bet the cards they were used to create were even prettier!

Ukok - I know, yeah? I used those colours, but I nicked the photo from the web.

Regan - it's in the mail. I think you'll like it. Simplicity is best. I think it's sweet you keep hand crafted things. I had a friend who actually framed some of my cards for wall art. Flattering, but kind of like, what? They aren't that good.

Rosemary - it was fun!!

Sarah - yup! I'm sure, but my supplies are a bit different, tho' I used that colour family.

GrandmaK - just a little busy.
