It's a pretty picture.
So, I have a job to do today. One that I love. LOVE, I tell you!
I'm baking two loaves of pumpkin bread - both to give away (one to a family who lost a loved one; and one to the family who's picking up the loaf to deliver to the family who lost a loved one - just 'cos we all love each other and know each other - and it feels good to bake).
I'm also going to make a few cards. There's a birthday girl this month (not sure of the exact day, but that doesn't matter to me). Her card will be mailed out today or tomorrow, depending upon when I get it put in the outbox. I hope she is going to ring tons of bells when she get it.
Squirrel Boy is planning his 15th birthday this month. He wants cash and a certain dessert I learned to make from my in-laws. Those ladies really have a few knock-out de-lish desserts up their sleeves. I've learned so many good things from Mom, Mary, Dawn, and Teenah.
So, I gotta run again and tie on my apron and get a move on. I'm just debating whether I should prank the delivery family (and bake a plastic baby into their loaf). Hmmmmmm. Maybe. You know, I got it from the King's Cake a few Mardi Gras ago. It would be funny and would secure me in their memories for years.

How fun! And pumpkin bread? YUM!!!
Yeah, the pumpkin bread loaves are baking rigth now and they smell heavenly! I'm almost grateful we are giving them away . . . I don't need any more calories today!
Just don't accidentally give the prank loaf to the wrong family. The joke would be on you! ;-)
Awesome! Whohooooooo! I love to make cards - maybe we should just plan at week of card making amongst the waves in Hawaii.
Would not mind one bit if you would post that yummy recipe! You are such a giver!
SCmom - I couldn't find the baby!!! Better luck next time, huh? And, what you said did cross my mind so I thought if I found the baby, I could icing it on the top for fun. Oh, well.
Mimi - YES!!!
Kissteen - I have a "cooking" blog and it has the recipe for pumpkin bread on there (Nov.23, I think). it's http://cuppasweets2go.blogspot.com OR you can follow the linkyloo I hope to get on this blog under my bio in just a few minutes. :)
Bloody hell, it worked/works! Kissteen, it is a click away under my "send me a laugh" called Some Rockin' Recipes. Enjoy!
what lovely colours to craft with!
i REALLY can't wait to see my card. and just so you know-i never throw homemade cards away. i store them in big huge plastic bins. i am a sucker for those sorts of things!
and i am so jealous that you are crafting AND baking today. i am yelling at my kids. doing school. yelling at my kids. and cleaning.
i'm gonna ship this 15yo off with you to HI. maybe they can go surfing or something......
ugghhh. i keep hoping the way he is acting -the way he's been acting for the last year-is some kind of april fools joke!
ps. i am glad you liked baby moses. isn't he sweet?
hugs.
=)
Sounds like a fun day.
All those supplies sure make a pretty photo. I bet the cards they were used to create were even prettier!
You HAVE been busy! Have a grand day! Cathy
Ukok - I know, yeah? I used those colours, but I nicked the photo from the web.
Regan - it's in the mail. I think you'll like it. Simplicity is best. I think it's sweet you keep hand crafted things. I had a friend who actually framed some of my cards for wall art. Flattering, but kind of like, what? They aren't that good.
Rosemary - it was fun!!
Sarah - yup! I'm sure, but my supplies are a bit different, tho' I used that colour family.
GrandmaK - just a little busy.
