Carrying the Cross

My God! May I hate sin, and unite myself to you, taking the Holy Cross into my arms, so that I in my turn may fulfil your most lovable Will . . . stripped of all earthly attachment, with no other glory but your glory . . . generously, not keeping anything back, offering myself with you in a perfect holocaust. Josemaria Escriva, loc cit, Ninth Station

I'm loving these wise words from St. JoseMaria Escriva. I need to learn more about her.
These mysteries are beautiful. Thanks for sharing them.
A blessed Triduum to you, my dear.

Jen, St. Josemaria is a man - he started Opus Dei. You may want to check out his writings in The Forge, The Way, and/or The Furrow (there is a book with all three in one). Highly recommended. Also, these quotes of his I am pulling from In Conversation with God by Francis Fernandez, who I am starting to believe was a follower or part of Opus Dei (or is, rather, as I suspect he's still alive and well). If you don't have any In Coversation with God, you may want to. I only have Volume 2 (Lent and Easter). WORTH IT!!

Blessed Triduum to you as well.

Hugs,
Sarah

See the fruits of blogging...someone who never heard of her found out her was a he! He is one of my favorites also.

Thanks for sharing his good stuff!

Oooops! Thanks, Sarah! Silly me...
I will look into those books you suggested. I have one other quote from him you may appreciate:

"You suffer and you want to bear it in silence. It doesn't matter if you complain; it's the natural reaction of our poor flesh; as long as your will wants, now and always, only what God wants."

That's encouraging...
