Hullo, DumDum (speaking to myself)

Maybe I should title this: Thank God I Can Donate Them!

I bought two youth medium Scout pants at the Scout shop when I went there about a week ago. I removed the tags, got rid of the receipt, and washed them. I was certain (certain, I tell you) that they would fit my two boys. They are about the same size and the eldest was literally squeezing himself into his youth smalls.

Let us just say squeezing into them should not be the technical term here. He was cutting off his circulation by wearing the youth smalls 'cos he could not.buckle.the.youth.mediums.for.the.life.of.him. A resounding "shite!" is sounding off now, yeah? So, I know beyond a doubt I am not going to get a refund or an exchange. Mind, it did not keep me from at least asking. They retail $39.99 each. Ka-chink and dink dink in my rinky dink dink!

Maybe I should title this post: Good Thing I'm Good Natured When I Screw Myself & It's Nice When Shops Make It So Much Easier!

So, anyhoo. I'm stuck with two uniform pants we can't use. I did buy two new ones in youth large (Crickles tried them on - if they fit him, they fit Squirrel Boy). Ka-chink . . . again.

Okay, maybe I should title this: MY SONS ARE FINALLY GROWING AND I HAVE THE PANTS TO SHOW FOR IT!

Tonight is Court of Honor at Boy Scouts so they need these pants. Thanks to Margaret in MN, I have an international dish to present (the theme is International Food). I'm bringing Bubbles and Squeak (sans the cabbage; it's a glorified dish of cheese and mashed potatoes). So, thanks Margaret for saving me this week!

Last week when my man was out of town I took the boys to Scouts. I've been coming and going to this place for four years now and never had I seen or heard of a dontation box for used uniforms. They pulled it out of the closet and said to take what you need. Now, I did not need the donation - I had purchased trousers. We were 'set'. So, if one of my friends I emailed is not going to take the new uniform pants from me, I think I know where they are going. The thing is, youth medium is really really small for the boys in this area. For some reason, most of the boys coming into scouting (age 11) are HUGE. Youth mediums run size 8-10 (now that I examined the actual tag). I think had I read the tag carefully and not based the size on the pants SB was wearing, I'd have been a better judge of it all. Especially in light of the fact SB is wearing 12 Levi's (floating in, I should say) and Crickles is wearing a 10. Um, I feel like a colossal Dumdum. But, it's okay. Some lucky boy will benefit some day by having perfectly lovely new trousers. A boy who needs them. A boy I am proud to give them to.

Perhaps I should title this post: After All, Doing A Good Turn Daily IS What It's All About.

**My break is officially over. I have had sufficient time to put myself in the right frame of mind - Persevere!**

My boys are outgrowing there pants right before my eyes, it seems.

Looking forward to shorts as their waists are still slims but their ankles are feelin' the breeze! :)
