Where God, Family, and Country Are Everything (in proper order)
Inspired by this confidence, I fly unto thee, O Virgin of virgins, my mother; to thee do I come, before thee I stand, sinful and sorrowful. O Mother of the Word Incarnate, despise not my petitions, but in thy mercy hear and answer me.
Amen.Come, Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of Thy faithful and enkindle in them the fire of Thy love.
V. Send forth Thy Spirit and they shall be created.
R. And Thou shalt renew the face of the earth.

love love love the first ad. eye opener.
It really says something about the 50's, doesn't it? For a couple of decades now, America has been trying to shove God into a box. It starts in advertising and the media. Just my opinion. The second ad is nice, on the surface. But what is it really telling us? I see it as saying: look, you whimpy "man", help America. A girl could and would if she was allowed. Well, women can do many things, but in a way we've tromped all over men and turned them into wussies. Again, my opinion. I'm tired of shows on the telly making men out to be dumb and useless. If I even hear or "feel" like that's happening w/out an equal amount of joshes toward the woman, I swtich it off.
Still. The first ad creates a longing in me . . .
Having grown up in the 50's I can tell you that I think this may have happened more in the 40's and maybe we saw some scenes like this on tv in the 50's. I mean, I had a sweet momma, but she didn't come and pray with me in my room...she was a Catholic momma too. I'm sorry to say that in many homes in the 50's, TV ... the unly monster took over praying with the family at night together...so often it did. I think many homeschool moms of today and others..not just one group, but I do know many homeschool families who pray more together than any families I remember praying together in the 50's. Just what I witnessed.
Ah, the good ole days...
