Even if you aren't polished on politics (like me) I highly recommend making Ann's acquaintance. Jamie, I'll be mailing her out this week. Enjoy!
I do have a good amount of respect for Ann. I do, really. I have seen her interviewed so I know she's opinionated and not afraid to use EXAMPLES to make her point. I do not know what I was thinking when I bought this book. I'm about half-way through reading it. Let me just say I am not disappointed in it at all. It has a lot of information in it. Then, let me say I am not political. I do like to know what is going on - truthfully. I would like to believe Ann is telling us the truth - and she holds no punches. I did not realize she was going to be so brassy and use cusses and so many examples to point out the truth. So, I'm doing a lot of wading - wading through a lot of news stories I never heard of - as she rightly points out, BECAUSE the liberal media's discretion is what counts here, folks! - and a lot of her bordering on nasty repartee. Then again, I'm a very forgiving sort, so part of me wishes I could backhand the liberals, too, but without the brass knuckles.
The verdict is still out on this one. I think it is about time I get more interested in politics - so I can better sift through it all. This is, after all, only the THIRD time I ever voted for a President (no, not for Obama - duh!) . . . but I stand behind my belief that
you should vote at every local and state election you can . . . those puny dudes and dudettes at that level will eventually go state and then on up and be our possible future senators etc. Please, vote local, too! Ann's smart and sassy - and I like to think she puts her money where her mouth is. I'm definitely going to finish reading this book. If for any other reason that I learn something more about how backwards politics are - which is baffling!
I'm still working on The Diary of a Country Priest - half way done. I'm only reading it just before bed - in bed. I usually get a few pages in, because I only get in bed to sleep. Usually.

My husband loves her books!!! I saw this one last week at Sam's Club and almost bought it for him! I'm sure he'd love it. She is funny in person (I've seen her in interviews) She'd make a great Catholic!
I have heard of her but none of her books have passed by my eyeballs.
I think I could hang with her and slam on the liberals and the stupid media over a good beer.
Hey I created an award for ya! Check it out at my blog.
Jamie - I think I still have your address. When I'm done reading it, you/your husband can have it. Save money and have something he enjoys all at the same time! Honest, I like the book, but I won't read it again and it's the kind I like to spread around . . . keen insightful truth can't be beat!
Kissteen - hope all of you get better soon!! I'm kinda sick of the boogies myself.
Dawn - thanks, I'll pop on over in a jiffy! Hugs!
Oh, gosh, thank you so much JOT!! I will pay you for the postage, and the book too, of course!!! I don't know Kissteen, I don't think we could carry much of a conversation with her, she is sooooo intelligent, what do you think JOT?
Not that we are stupid, but I'm just sayin'
I would probably be one of the first people to let Ann finish a dern sentence, that's fer sure!! No, none of us are stupid - Ann's smarts are about politics 'cos she cares about it, and, she cares about the truth - and I think she is Catholic. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think she is. But, if we changed the subject, we could definitely hold a conversation. :-) Jamie, I want to GIVE you the book. Postage is no big deal, trust me. Thank you for letting me do this for you. :-)
Hugs,
Sarah
I saw a youtube of her defending herself on the view. She is a tough cookie and says things that the media will never tell you!
I saw the same video from the view. Joy and Whoopi tried their hardest to browbeat her but failed. I believe she is Catholic.
