The Tote Meme

I strong-armed my eldest into snapping this pic this AM. It's terrible - a right bloody awful! But, not his fault. Anyhoo - this is me (hair - dry but not "done up"; Hawkeye fleece pull over with zip front - comes out of the closet when it snows and I wear it over the tee-shirt of the day - today it happens to be my "Unam, Sanctam, Catholicam, Apostolicam" tee; ripped in the inner thighs jeans - not shown here - this is a decent blog, after all, yeah? and paired with pair of socks that are usually some kind of design - today's being pink with hearts all over them). If I have to put the dern dog out once more today, I may slip on my trusty "The North Face" boots. Gosh, I'm so glad I sprung the dough for those! Every snowy season they have saved my arse from a good walloping by the concrete! The Tote is none other than L.L. Bean lobster print. It's just the right size for a book, my wallet and a few other items. I think it's cute and for $24 just rightly priced. I do have a black, skinny, almost completely useless purse by Coach (I was so into labels a few years ago I had to have it at the $165 it was - just stupid, senseless spending and I hardly ever use it), a Fossil blue leather tote like bag which is handy on trips (holds more than one book) . . . but I am not a bag/purse kind of gal. Shoes? More so, but even then, it's really the books I go for. I need another bookcase. And, since it was mentioned, many of my clothes come from Ann Taylor Loft (the ones I wear to Mass and special events), L.L. Bean and Land'sEnd. My plan is to phase out jeans altogether. I just don't find them flattering on my body. Never have. I never feel FAT in my slacks - they fit better in all the right places.
I'm wearing said pullover fleece because this is what it looked like outside yesterday and it's not much different this morning - just slick as Blippity-blop thanks to the freezing rain. I hope my neighbours don't mind me always posting their house!

Thanks, Jamie !!

Well, in about an hour my two charges shall arrive. The boy is only 4 and boy, he was bored yesterday. My house isn't set up for a daycare so it's not structured - he's used to that sort of environment. Mom is a friend so . . . . she can't miss work and the schools her kids attend is shut down today. Three hour early start gave me just what I needed to get ready. I have to set up the Thomas the Tank Engine set . . . I remembered rather late yesterday that I have a circle set and another set that can be put together to make a pretty fun track for a wee boy. I do have the box w/ seat lid set - but that set is very expensive and in very very good condition . . . I don't know if saving it for my grandkids will pan out, but that is the plan and I'm sticking to it.

I "tag" Dawn(A Helping Hand) , Jen (This Family of Ours), and anyone else who wants to play along. Leave me a comment and let me know if you play along.

Cute lady, cute bag! (not cute bag lady)

You really do look great, the new do makes you look so young!

Cute bag, not that bag I pictured you with, I don't know why, maybe I expected the bag to match your shoes!! (remember all those cute shoes you posted?)

Thanks for playing along!!

Lobster bag!!! Very chic!

Brrr...looks rather chilly where you are at. We had -4 this morning. This saturday we will have a heat wave of 34 degrees. I cannot wait.

Good luck with the sweet young one!

JMJ, Jamie, Christine - I posted the "bag" I use the most often. The red lobsters tie into my two red jackets (red parka or red peacoat). :-)

This has been fun; another way to get to know everyone better!

Corinne - yes, play! Just post a pic of you in your usual attire with your current handbag. Tell us about your clothes, your purse. It's fun!

Dawn - see my comment to Corinne; yes, I wanted to call "sick" and I very well could have except I did not want to lie. SO, there's no school in the county tomorrow either so my plan is - to say I have other plans (and no details offered - unless pressed then I'll just say: i have to school my kids and your kids being here ain't making that happen). So, I have other plans - legit ones. I spoke to Nicole and she said to say that. :-)

I'm only up here at my desk a few minutes while the youngster takes a nap! But, I feel so invigorated today! I went to bed early after praying the St. Michael chaplet and this AM I prayed long before anyone else in the house was up. The first part of youngsters nap I read more of my Divine Office for Dodo's. I'm almost . . .it's just so PEACEFUL and praying makes me feel like I'm being hugged by all of Heaven.

I love how you have the bag around your neck, and that smirk is too funny. LOL! Yeah, we've got to snow here too. My kiddos and I have CABIN FEVER! I'm acutally excited about going to Abigail's allergy shot tomorrow. Isn't that just pathetic? I did a meme..it's so awful. Go ahead and check it out for a good laugh. :-)

Jen - your meme is great!! I drove up to get the mail this evening - it was liberating! The past two days I've had someone else's kids stuck inside with us, too. We're all just "done" already.

Regina - I love the lobsters, too. Better than the hunting dogs or loons (not that either of those are bad - the lobsters are just more "out there" and "fun"). When in MN I loved hearing the loon . . . it can be a neat sound or really very creepy.

Funny post. We received 12 lovely inches of the white stuff and I spent all day yesterday shoveling to help my hubby who the night before shoveled the entire street we live on..sidewalk I mean and was up till 12:30 am and had to work the next day. So, since he did that, I picked up where he laid off as there were many more inches back over it...but it was a good thing he did that as it made it easier to scoop up the rest. Anyway, I think I get my computer today. I've missed everyone, but it has clearly been good for me. Suz

I've missed you Suz! I can't wait to have you back on a regular basis! Sorry you've had PC issues, but some times it is good for us, as you say. I'm glad you see it as such.
Hugs,
Sarah
