Connor got a trade-in at Game Stop and is happily playing games on his PS3. Amen.
Christian is okay after a rather nasty fall off his bike. He wasted the knee out of his new jeans and ripped his shirt in several places . . . his knee is terribly "road rashed" as are the palms of his hands and an elbow. We are grateful nothing worse . . . He's okay, but it was pitiful to hear him cry-screaming when Chief was cleaning out the wounds.
We went to see Percy Jackson and the Olympians "Lightning Thief" today. I love going out as a family to the cinema. We went to the Dole Cannery one. What a weirdly, creepy place to go. It was like being in a ghost town. Seriously.
I'm going to go back to some reading. Enjoy your night!

Glad to hear you had a good day. Were you saying the dole cannery was weird and creepy? was it just a lack of tourists on Sunday?
How was the movie?
Dawn - the cannery was closed in 1991 and turned into business space. One side there is a theatre. The theatre was not busy, but that's where "everyone" was and that was less than 200, easily. When we walked through the cannery, there were many spaced not rented out and others locked up tight - at 2 in the afternoon. outside a card game tournament crowd it was all but empty ON SATURDAY. Costco and Home Depot were hoppin' though.
The movie wasn't like the book - I found editing flaws all over the place (from one scene to the next, the flow was "interrupted" IMHO). There was way more over/undertones of flirting than in the books. I would say definitely PG-13 - should caution for younger kids.
So glad to hear your son was able to get his PS3. Sounds like a good day with your family, how wonderful:-)
Thanks for the heads up on the movie.
BTW, where/what is the photo from your header?
JMJ- I got the photo from doing a search on "pictures of the shire". ;)
I was just coming in to comment about the hobbit house header--so pretty!
OUCH on that fall from the bike! I did that once, the ONE time I tried using my kids' scooter. Of course, 3 days before school started, so I was teaching first grade with huge bandages on both palms. Eeek. Hope he feels better soon.
Your header picture is fabulous! Where IS that little house? I want to move in!
Sarah-kala: Great photo on the header. So are you a Brandybuck or a "fool of a Took"? ;-)
Definitely I relate more to Brandybuck - there's a time and a place, yeah?
