Feast of Guardian Angels

Angel of God,
my guardian dear,
To whom God's love
commits me here,
Ever this day,
be at my side,
To light and guard,
Rule and guide.

Amen.

"From infancy to death human life is surrounded by their (the angels) watchful care and intercession. Beside each believer stands an angel as protector and shepherd leading him to life. Already here on earth the Christian life shares by faith in the blessed company of angels and men united to God."

- from the Catechism of the Catholic Church; 336.

Hail, Holy Queen Above

I love Marian feast days. This one in particular, as it is also my mum's birthday. My mum also rededicates herself to Jesus through Mary on this day every year. It's pretty cool.

Mummy, thank you for carrying me to term even when all the doctors pushed you to consider abortion as an option. We both came through, because you chose to trust God. Thank you for joining the Catholic Church, because you were so afraid to leave the Lutheran Church you attended since infancy. Thank you for staying married all these years to dad. You have been a good example to follow in many things, and for the other things that bother me (personality differences) I want you to know that I love you anyway. Let's be honest: you have loved me "anyway" through many things. I love you, mum. Take care of your health. Here's to another bounty of years! Happy 64th birthday, ya old gel!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, TO MY DEAREST FRIEND!!

Dawn, you are a bright shining star in my life -
I'm so thankful to God for you.
Whenever you're sad or whenever you're blue
Just remember I'm much older than you!
LOVE IN MASS ARTICULATED LORRY LOADS,
Sarah
