I Love This Man With All My Heart

Last night, my husband was lying on the sofa across from me. I was happily sifting through a catalogue as he beckoned me with these words: Come here.
I looked up at him and said, "No, because you didn't ask correctly."
He looked at me and said firmly, "Come. here."
Replying with a smirk on my face, "Say it like Shakespeare." I wanted him to say "Come hither" like he used to eons ago.
Effecting a British accent he begs, "Come heeere."
Of course, I laughed me arse off. When I laugh, he laughs - even when he doesn't quite get what's to be laughing about. That's why I love him - he doesn't always "get" it or me, but he loves me, and beckons me - and even tries again "my way" to get me to jump into his arms.
I jumped!

ohhhh...how very, very sweet.
what a great mr. you have! and rightly so because you're pretty great yourself! =)
besides, men aren't SUPPOSED to understand us-they are just supposed to LOVE us!
mine actually sat by me, adoring me as i sewed hearts on a tablecloth, begging for "some sugar"-his new way of asking for kisses.....it's kinda funny 'cause my GRANDPA used to say the same thing!
happy saturday.
my baby turns 15 today.
so it is kind of a bittersweet day for me.

I am so happy for you! I may be without a husband myself, but it doesn't make me bitter or resentful to hear stories like this, it makes me happy. I love, love!

Shall we call you Kate the Shrew? Pettruccio would never put up with a "no" ;-)

Cute story. Wingnut makes me laugh too. It's the secret to our happy marriage!

regan - HB to your boy once again! I think it's cute your hubs asks for sugar. Cute!

Mimi - glad you see the humour in this!!

JMJ - thank God it is in the air!!

Ukok - well, I'm glad you are bitter about this kind of thing. I would never have thought that, though. My sis sometimes says it would be nice to have a man about (she's a single mum to one daughter) . . . but like she says, "I wouldn't begrudge anyone it nor do I dislike my life as it is at the moment. Life is good."

Mau and MM - really? Taming the Shrew? Hmmmm. Methinks I need to see that production or break my brain reading the play.

Jamie - thanks, dahling. He's a keeper. He doesn't mind my putting the mushy stuff here - not really.

Regina - I couldn't agree more!!

Ukok - obviously I meant I am glad you are NOT bitter. . . I need to check my comments before I post them! Sheesh. Sorry about that.

Ok, now, this is just terribly, sweetly romantic. In a very unusual, but endearing way. Blessings, you guys. I love love.
